On Shanti's description of 'Shit', he refers to it as a true breed from the '80's. My question is, does that mean it breeds true or is it an F1 (AfghanxSkunk X Skunk)? I'm about to make an order and want to concentrate on stock with which I can produce my own seed.

I doubt it breeds true...Pretty sure it's an F1..
I'm growing them now...

Thanks for the response Capt.. If I'm lucky, Shanti will pop in and provide a definative answer, but I'm guessing you're right. I was looking to TFD's Pure as my mostly sativa IBL for seed making but became concerned when T2U reported that his Pure males were shooting blanks.

I wouldn't worry about The Pure, it's just Skunk #1 and I've never had a sterile Skunk #1 male so i don;t see why The Pure should be any different. It's not all that sativa though.

Thanks for providing that link. So, If I understand Shanti's explanation, Shit is not an F1 of a Super Skunk x Skunk [(Afghan x Skunk) X Skunk] but of Skunk parents that are phenotypically more Afghani. That would make them true breeding since the parents are still Skunk #1s. Correct?

I always thought it was Afi X Skunk...But that certainly seems like it means just that...Skunk#1 X Skunk#1 (indica dominant)
If this is the case it has just made my day!!!!
This is just what I have been wanting...The acrid indica Skunk for breeding...
