268watt Stealthy tubs
Hey again,
Ive been lurking around forever picking up information and asking questions here and there, but didnt want to really post anything until i atleast had SOMETHING to show. I guess im posting now bc i kind have a cloning question butt... first let me show you what we're working with... The tubs sit in the back corner of the closet and bc of which dont get alot of air, so usually once a day i doo a good job to swap air out of the whole place. Even though without the temps usually range from 68-80. The acrilic shield does a good job keeping heet out. The bootleg carbon filter i rigged up with love and ducttape actually does a pretty good job, I left it off one weekend while i was using Sarin Gas for mites and the place stunk, until i plugged it back in. (didnt want that diclorviouwhatever getting in my filter?) I also built a little clone chamber for the time being inside, bubble 'stix' and a little heater, ive played with the temps for a few days and the superaccurate sticker says its around 78-80f. Now for the goods... I picked up a couple gonzo#1 (or so we think, huge box of plants, ripped kids, who knows) clones maybe 5 or so weeks ago. and when they arrived... #1 #2 And after a couple of repottings in FFOceanForest/Perilite/Splash of Vermic they have exploded into... They went to 12/12 like a week ago, started shooting out all over, and i know i dont have alot of time before i should take some clones. Here is where i really need some help... I fim'd one of them and JUST lst'd the other, and im just wondering if anyone can glance at these and tell me if ANY of the little lower shoots could make good clones, or if i really have to sacrifice ones that would be major part of the canopy? (the picture of them in the box is actualy more recent but yeahh) I was even thinking of taking the entire top off the the lst'd one just to make real good mother since ive been reading around and these may take a while to flower, just for timings sake i mean? Wow i knew i had to just get that all out but it seemed hard till it was done, i hope it all fits together. If you have any suggestions on how i can keep my boxes perpetual pleeazze advise. Quack

You should take clones asap, because when they go into flower it will take alot longer and more work reverting ur clones back into veg from there flowering state. I see a few clone spots that look good. Just try to make sure the ones u cut dont have any flowers on them yet. Good luck, and ur plants and setup look great by the way

Top 'em. Take some the juiciest bits for clones--which you might want to have done before 12/12 or really soon after. You've got two weeks or so of stretch when you pop them into 12/12. A clipping taken while in flowering will have to revert back to veg mode, and you'll lose time.

Sorry that its been so long with nothing to show, I've just been getting killed with schoolwork latley.
Theyve been flowering for about 15 days now and are just starting to burst eveywhere. I'll let a barrage of pictues do the talking... I'm goin to try and build a little scrog net, not anything complex, just somethin to keep em in line. Goin to rig it up kinda like an upside down basket if that makes any sense, anddd if it doesnt you'll see it in the next few days. I'ts just gotta be a weird shape to smoothly fit up in the top of the tub. The clones I cut are getting alittle bumpy and rough on the tips, but have also developed a brown tint to them, not crazy brown though. The cuttings themselves look like they havent hurt at all since they wer taken off so I'm hoping theyre just goin slow, as its only been about 6 days. I'm goin to just have to have to keep my fingers crossed I guess, anyone know if you can re-cut them and try to get roots again if you've messed it up the first time?

ABlueDuck,
your setup is exactly how I want to setup mine in the near future. what size (capacity) is the clear bucket inside that you're using to hold the water? how many plants are growing in there and in what size pots? thanks! |

I thought I would just throw in a few quick ones that were still sitting on my camera, dont know why they never went on to begin with...
This is the top of the upper rubbermaid lifted off you can see the lights, and the vanity bar setup (thanks red). Here's an upper view with the top exposed, had to wipe out some of the dust that collects on the heatshield. You can see the fan above the heatshield for exhaust, and the one just below that goes out thru the scrubber. I just had to put some screen on it yesterday bc it was chewing up my leaves. Heres a couple quick babybudshots throuh the acrylic... And finally heres the cheapo therm i dont really trust. Ive compared it against a few around the house and its usually about 1deg below the rest, so i try to keep it in a healthy range, but not much i can do. After i get done tomorrow im goin to try and start building that cage to save some branches from being pinched, hopefully i'll put up some pictures of how awesome it looks, hopefully.

Dan - You mean the little clear one inside for the clonebubbler? I think its like 20 qt, maybe like alittle bigger than a shoebox. Holds everything pretty well, but i think i probably could have gone smaller and it would have been fine.
There are 2 clones in the big flower tubs, 16 days into flower, im keeping them in those 8in' pots till they finish(again red's advice), hopefully they wont get toooo much bigger, i can only drop em down another like 10 inches maybe. This is my first time doing everything though, an i dont konw how it'll turn out, but most of the concepts have been borrowed from red's, pomh and mrmicro's threads, so just go through their's line by line for some really good battle tested ideas.

Ooooh, looking very good!!! You did a good job with the LST and have lot's of shoots. I think you missed the window to put the screen on and they look like they are nearly done stretching. I think you'll do more damage than good by putting on a screen now.
I would thin out the jungle a bit and cut off some of the smaller and lower shoots. About 8 buds per sqft is optimum. |
