QUestions for BOG Heads article

Yea Im new but who cares.

I had a few questions for BUshy Older Grower about His recent Heads article.

1) What the hell is RO water?

2) How long do you let the taproot get after it popps out of the seed ? (it said _inch)

3) Do you reccomend 3 or 4 transplants? (so that means 3 diffenent pots?)

4) How do you keep the soil in tact when transplanting? MIne always seem to break apart. does the wet soil or dry hold together better?

5) Do you not ever use styrophome?

If these questions have already been answered many times then just tell me to f.o.

Thanks

Wink Perhaps there was a typo

SirSmokesAlot, I am honored that your first post is to ask for clarifications concerning my article. Welcome to ICMAG!

1. RO water is the abbreviation commonly used to designate reverse osmosis water. This type of filtered water has some minerals left in to while distilled water does not. Any reasonably neutral ph water will usually do however.

2. I believe it was supposed to say 1/4 to 1/2 inch but up to an inch long is ok.

3. The number of transplants depends on how big the individual plants you wish to grow will be. This often depends on lighting systems in flowering and how tall the plants can be. Normally 2 transplants is sufficient for good yields and healthy plants.

4. I make sure my plants are pretty well rooted before attempting transplant. I am patient in veg because I always run a seperate veg and flowering room. Well rooted plants never fall apart when transplanted and it isn't the soil type, it's the roots. You must be transplanting too soon. Try some superthrive to stimulate rooting.

5. No, I never use styrofoam. BOG

not BOG, but this might help

1) What the hell is RO water? RO stands for Reverse Osmosis. What is osmosis? It is the phenomenon of water flow through a semi permeable membrane that blocks the transport of salts or other solutes through it. Osmosis is a fundamental effect in all biological systems. It is applied to water purification and desalination, waste material treatment, and many other chemical and biochemical laboratory and industrial processes.

2) How long do you let the taproot get after it popps out of the seed ? (it said _inch) As long as the seed has cracked you are OK. Avoid touching the taproot as much as possible and plant about 1/4 inch in medium or soil.

3) Do you reccomend 3 or 4 transplants? (so that means 3 diffenent pots?) https://www.overgrow.com/growfaq/993 info on transplanting

4) How do you keep the soil in tact when transplanting? MIne always seem to break apart. does the wet soil or dry hold together better?

5) Do you not ever use styrophome?

Thanks for answering so quickly! Im new to growing but Im starting to catch on. I too am a slow learner in the beginning but once I figure something out I never forget it.

Not to turn this into a butt kissing thread, But I love your style of writing. Your article was easy to understand and It seems you have a very no bs way of doing things. I cant tell you how many different things Ive read where the writer apparently wanted to make himself sound like the Einstein of growers , and that would discourage me because it made me think growing good pot was rocket science.

Keep up the good work.
