Biko II Test

Hello Everyone.
I have started the first Biko II Test grow. I test germed 20 seeds. I got 19 to germ out of 20 in 56 hours. I used regular unbalanced tap water and a plain white paper towel.

It is a little cold this time of year so I had to pull out the ghetto seeding mat.

here are the babies.

The rockwool cubes were pre-soaked for 24 hours at 5.5.

ready for the new host medium.

First light and 6 chosen Biko IIs

I will be updating this thread weekly. Watch for other BII testing to follow this one.

Love to all
annac

Good rootstock straight from the seed. Looks like a vigorous grower.

Hello gronnh20. thanks for the kudos.

Hello HF....all puns intented... pot roast sounds good to me!!!
on a personal note...I am not much for eating anything that has been stuffed up something elses fanny and then cooked I had a roll and a piece of pecan pie and a dash of cool whip and that was the extent of my Thanksgiving dinner.

The reason I started the BII test grow early is to be in front of the other BII test grows that should be starting within the next few weeks. I am a little behind schedule on getting the test seeds out and I apologize to my test growers. They are coming as promised. As you already know....It has been a very crazy week.

love to all.

Hello mushupork5.
Thank you for the well wishes. I understand about people living in the South as I am one of them..
It has already warmed up here again. We are in the lower 80s today. Tomorrow will probably be back in the upper 30s. I will have to watch the weather channel and see when our next cold front is due.

BII test report Update:
I added another 4 seedlings to the BII test grow. We now have a total of 10 BIIs in cubes. I am eventually going to start them in a Ebb&Flo and transplant the keepers to waterfarms and a aeroflo20 system.

BII Update 28-11-06

Hello Everyone.

I have placed the new starts in an ebb & flo system and placed them under a 200 watt full spectrum T5 flouro. I am using regular tap water, no nutrients and Hydroshield at 1/4 strength with the water Ph set to 5.7. The flood table is running 15 minutes on and 5 hours off until the roots penetrate the cubes. I don't want to overwater the rockwool cubes and cause root rot. Once the roots penetrate the cubes then I will raise the flood table time by 15 minutes.

Due to space restrictions I am going to have to go into a early bloom period starting next saturday.

Please be careful as not to damage the main taproot when transplanting to a new medium.

a new home for BII

close up

thats it for now......much more to come

love & compassion to all.
