Smile Freeda Greens Sour Bubble Test Grow

Hooray for BOGs! They were kind enough to send us some sour bubble testers when our SD order hadn't shown . . . and we have good news on that front as well - got an email yesterday saying they would reship! So, we should have some LSD going soon too!

Anyhow, this will be my first grow journal, so by all means if anyone has any questions, comments, or suggestions . . . fire away!

We got the seeds on Saturday, and in less than 48 hours all six seeds were more than ready to be planted.

So, here's the breakdown of how I planted them:

I used 4 1/2" pots, and in the bottom third of the pot I used a 50/50 mixture of Jungle Grow Potting Soil and Sta-Green Horticultural Perlite (from Lowe's). For the rest of the pot (top 2/3) I used 4 parts Jungle Grow Potting soil: 1 part Sta-Green Perlite: 1 part Sta-Green Vermiculite. I watered each pot, and then made a hole about an inch deep with my finger for each sour bubble baby. I dropped them in, tail down, covered them lightly with a little dry soil mix, and then used a couple teaspoons of water to moisten the soil. 24 hours later, two seedlings had emerged, and after a total of 48 hours in soil we had 6 seedlings all showing their first leaves.

My veg cabinet is a C13 with about 600w compact fluorescents. We use two 4" computer fans for exhaust, and the temp stays at about 78 degrees F. The lights stay about 2-3 inches from the tops of the plants, and we are misting with water twice a day. Here's an older (pre-sour bubble) pic of the C13.

Ok, so I guess that's about all I can think of to say right now, other than

Thanks be to BOG!!!

Peace,
Freeda Green

Thumbs up Thanks you guys!

I really appreciate your support you guys! Everything seems to be going great, and as soon as there is substantial change in the looks of my little sweeties I'll be sure to take some more pics! I got good word from SD, and it looks like in a few weeks I may be able to put some LSD in beside my sour bubble babies!

At not quite a week old, they are getting no nutes, but they get watered every other day and misted twice every day with tap water. Granted the tap water isn't the greatest- we are trying to work on getting an RO system soon. I am pretty sure that the salts are high in our tap water. We had a salt buildup problem our first grow, and we ended up flushing our plants once a month to get the salts out. I think I'm going to go buy a few gallons of water from the store. Should I go with distilled water or spring water? What do you guys think?

Peace,

Thumbs up Not distilled, spring or RO is better.

I like some minerals in the water but not too many so distilled water removes all minerals and that isnt good but it will work fine for babies. The main thing is water that is neutral in ph is best because ferts tend to be acidic and plants like slightly acidic. Watering plain water is all I need to do to regulate ph as my water is 7.0 hard well water.

Freeda has the spirit and I told her that any problem with her delivery would be taken care of by SD anyways. I just wanted her as a tester because she is so nice and writes so well. BTW, your 600 watt floro cabinet sounds pretty good to me. Your story will have a happy ending freeda. BOG

Thumbs up thanks BOG

RO water it is then! We can buy it for like 50 cents a gallon from the local aquarium supply store.

BOG, I know we are going to have a happy ending, and I can't thank you enough! Our babies are dark green and the most lovely sight. The first thing I do when I get out of bed is go look at our little BOG babies, and I have a feeling they aren't going to be "little" for long! They seem to like the veg cabinet, but I can't wait until flower time! We are working on plans to add 200-400w of compact fluorescents to the 400w hps (hortilux bulb) that is currently in our flower closet, but we just have to get our new dayton blower in first!

I promise to give my babies lots of love and to give you guys lots of pics!

Thanks again BOG . . . for the seeds, the bubble hash, the support, the compliments, and all the love!

Peace,

Freeda Green

Looking good and i love your setup. It's nice and neat and very clean. Your going to do just great with those seedlings. Can't wait to see them all big and fat like the rest of the testers. Wait till you see those fat leaves and the dark color. Your going to enjoy watching them grow before your eyes.. Good luck and enjoy your new babies.
Take care

sorry I have been out of pocket . . .

Hi there . . . sorry I haven't posted lately, but good news abounds in the land of Freeda Green and Forest Gump! We are now home owners!!! Moving sucks, but we are almost done, and our sour bubble babies look great. I'm going to try and get some pics up after I shampoo the carpets at our old house today.

More good news . . . our SD order came in, so I will be starting up some LSD as soon as we get settled in here at the new house. I started to lose faith about ever getting my SD order, but they came through! Thanks SD, and BOG!

Anyhoo, I'll be back later this evening to give you guys a full report on the goings-on in the C13. I have some variety in my 6 babies, but everything looks promising.

and Kedei, yes that is a cake tray - the nice manager at my local grocery store gave it to me for free! Who wants to spend money on a clone tray when a sheet cake tray works just as well??? lol

Peace,

"The prestige of government has undoubtedly been lowered considerably by the prohibition law. For nothing is more destructive of respect for the government and the law of the land than passing laws which cannot be enforced. It is an open secret that the dangerous increase of crime in this country is closely connected with this."
Albert Einstein, "My First Impression of the U.S.A.", 1921

"Prohibition will work great injury to the cause of temperance. It is a species of intemperance within itself, for it goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation, and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A Prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded."
Abraham Lincoln, U.S. President. 18 Dec. 1840

PLEASE don't PM me for seeds or cuts,.. Thank you
