NGB/Bio-Bucket inspired cab.....

NGB inspired cab with DWC and modified mini-recirc. biobuckets. Not the greatest pictures....

Lights: Flower box: 400W digital/switchable MH/HPS enclosed hood, vented separate from cab with 6" inline duct fan, fixed position. Veg box: 2x125W CFL's, separate adjustable height for each.
Cab: Veg 18" x 36" x 28" holds two DWC tubs, one for Moms and one for clone/veg. Flower 24"'x36"x40" with SCROG.
Air intake into veg: 2 x 6" elbow intakes with screens.
Fans: Two 5" 120cfm computer fans from veg to flower, and Vortex 4" on speed controller from flower to 4" Vortex carbon filter (outside cab). One six inch desk fan in flower box
Modified recirc bio-buckets: Irrigation pipe T's connected in a 'U', 185 gpm pump from 8 gallon res. (underneath) to one end, drains through back to res. in minuature 'waterfall' style, pump T's into drip lines.
- Res. = aquarium heater at 70F., glass airstone, lava rocks 'filtering' intake to pump.
- Pipe = six sites for 3.5" netpots, 24" bubble wands on each side, Aquashuttle drip lines, lava rock along bottom of each pipe.
Nutes: Fox Farm series with Tri-Pak, Protekt, Superthrive, Multi-Enzyme

Conditions:
Air temp: 66-70F lights off, 72-78-F lights on.
Humidity: 45-58%
Water temp: 70F
PPM: 500-600 (12/12 starts tomorrow)
pH: 5.7-6.0
Res. change: never, top off with R/O H2O.

SCROG in action: Nirvana Bubblicious, Amsterdam Seeds Shiva, Nirvana Tiki Seedbank Tiki-mix (unknown strains) 12/12 starts tomorrow:

SCROG from down under, trim-out in two weeks or so, just after the stretch.

Nirvana Tiki seedbank Tiki-mix (uknown) Mother (great smoke), needs a trim! Mothers kept bonzai style in DWC.

Start of new Shiva, Bubblicious, and Tiki (unknown) Mothers

Thanks to everyone here and OG for all the great ideas!

I was actually inspired by the creek down the road. Super robust growth right next to and in the creek. You can see plant roots floating DWC style on the edges. As we all know, standing water (like a static res.) is bad for most plants, so, I attempted to replicate the stream bank environment but using time tested ideas from IC and OG.

After reading all the bio-bucket threads, I added the lava rocks to the pump intake area as a bio-filter, and more along the bottom of the pipe to let the roots latch onto and get all that lovin' from the BB's. The primary benefit is no res. changes! Just top off the res. with R/O water!

Solution is pumped up from the res. into one end, then slowly circulates around and out an elevated drain on the other end of the "U". I use the drippers for young plants with small roots systems that are not submerged in the DWC/stream portion. I assume the drippers also have a 'waterfall' type effect when the drip off the bottom of the net pots and hit the solution.

By the end of the grow, those tubes are almost competely filled with roots, but has never clogged. The elevated drain keeps 'em out of the nutrient solution, though the plant on the drain end is usually greedy and sends some root shoots down.

I just made a great schematic but I can't get it uploaded into my gallery... any hints? I don't know if IC accepts Macintosh files for upload.....?

Great work there. I really like that. Sleek design. I have a dup of the NGB box myself and like it, but there are plenty of flaws. Keep it up!

Merman--set up looks nice! You've got two chambers, right? Are they in the same box? Can we see the outside of the set-up?

two thumbs up,
duggy

save it as jpg, if it is more than 800x600 the site will resize it to that (i think) so just save it as a jpg that is less than 800x600. Im definitely looking forward to seeing the design.

No luck uploading the schematic into my galley. Would be great if I.C. could post some guidelines on gallery uploads (what type of files, etc.). I can't find any reference on this in any of the forums or F.A.Q.

My Mac can save the file as: .tiff or .jpg.cwk. There must be another way..... Any other Mac users out there? I've seen other posts with drawings so it can be done.....

I'll keep posting pics as this little SCROG keeps growin'. Last night was the first of 12/12.....

Bounty: Wish I was there..... I lived in Trinidad for 12 years, I miss it a lot! That is the Humboldt county outline in your avatar?

Duggy: The box is all one for a total depth of 36" and width of 24"(flower) + 18"(veg/clone) for a total of 42". Its 'built-in' to the space it is occupying. Unfortunately, I can't show you the outside of the box since it would give away its 'stealth' position to the IC general viewing public. (Chances are extremely low that anyone would recognize it from this site, but why take the chance? Just gives the man another place to go looking) Let's just say that the drawer faces are camoflaged with everyday items....

It is set up on 200 lb. rated drawer slides for a full 270 degrees of access (I can't reach in from the back.)

When this grow is done, I'll take it apart and show you what I've got. We'll have to wait 55-65 days!!! Target harvest date for this grow is January 16!
