Jack Black's MOD bx thread

I finally got my MOD bx from Seedbay (thanks Gypsy and Kalistroyer). I germed 5 of them and they all cracked within 2 days. They are a few days old now in a mix of 60/40 peat/perlite and looking good so far.

I wanted to start a grow thread and maybe get some good info going on this strain for myself and anyone else wanting to grow it.

I plan on flowering these pretty small, my only concern is transplanting during flower. Since they'll still be vegging for quite awhile once they go to 12/12, I figured it would be better to transplant them like a vegging plant instead of putting them in a large pot right away. You guys think it's a good idea to do this?

Here's a pic from yesterday.

Jack

upNORTH will become famous soon enough
they can grow 4+" in them cups, then move them into some bigger pots. it isnt't good to transpland more than 3 times.

^^^^I think you misunderstood what I was talkng about (transplanting long flowering sativas during 12/12).

Anyway, why is it you think that transplanting more than 3 times isn't good?

I've been doing this for a long time and I usually transplant at least 3 times and sometimes 4 when the plants show me they need it and not by how tall they are.

Hey jack, i have a couple of mod's at the moment. They are just showing pre flowers but not sure on ether yet. I have vegged for about 3 weeks so far, that was under fleuros but they are now under 400w hps.
Cant wait to try this strain.
Good luck with your grow!

neilspotshop,

Thanks man care to share the specs or pics of your grow? Are you doing hydro, soil, soilless? What nutes and how are you feeding them?

Not a whole lot of info out there for soil/soilless growers for this strain.

I'm kind of new to the long flowering sativa grows so any info would be great.

Good luck w/ your grow too !!!

Well I have a pic of the grow as of this morning, but they are in the dark right now so i wont disturb them.

I am using a 400w grolux in a cool tube.
The two on the left are the Mod bx. I started them in a local seedling starter soil and have just transplanted into bio bizz allmix. I do worry this might be a bit strong for them but my local shop doesnt stock the soilless mix i prefer and shipping soil is kinder expensive hehe. I have bio bizz nutes and also bio canna i will probably use mainly bio bizz but have been advised that these plants dont want nitrogen in flower so might use the bio canna flores more as it has less than the biobizz.
I have only really grown sativa hybrids apart from grapefruit but she is a shorter flowering sativa so i cant really offer much advice.
Mod will probably be able to help more but i think he maybe in the dam or on his way.
I will start a thread as soon as i have sexed them, will probably lst them when i know who's female.

Hey man they're looking great so far for only 3 weeks of veggin, and thanks for the details. It's always good to know what's working for other people and to compare results etc.

Are you planning on flipping the lights soon? You're gonna have some big plants there man.

I was thinking about flowering after about 2 weeks of veg and going from there, I've got to keep the height manageable so my indicas don't suffer from a lack of light.

Thanks for the info,
Jack

I do belive that MOD said these might continue to grow verticallly
the whole way through 12/12. So 2 weeks sounds about right to me.
I'm starting a pack of these very soon so i hope this will be
an awesome thread! I'm a bit nervous about taking on a 100% sativa
with hybrids in the room as well, gotta maintain that canopy ya know!

neilspotshop, get ready for some heavy duty training. I bet they really get big during the stretch. You flowering with the 400W also?

exactlywatt, thanks for posting, stick around and feel free to add to it if ya want to.

I grew out MOD's Arjan's x NL5 haze, it was my first long flowering sativa. It really took off during flowering and I had to tie it down alot. I had problems w/ ferts too, I was feeding her like an indica, and almost killed her. Hopefully flowering small will help with those height issues and less and lighter feedings will bring some better results.
