Yeah.
But let's say that my plants are tied down(LST for 2 weeks) and measuring 30cm high. Now it's time to put the screen. From what I've read I got to bend under any branch that sits 4'' over the screen.Right?
After this, let's say that I have a uniform canopy just above the screen(3-4'').Now is the time to put them under12/12?Or should I let the canopy grow much more over the screen?

from what i understand...the screen is there to make an even "top" to the canapy...that way all you have growing above it is buds

Well, i suppose that would depend on the size of the holes in your screen. Once a top is big enough to go back under the screen and along to the next hole, you do so. I use the plastic 2" square garden fencing for a screen, so a top 3-4" above the screen would be about right for moving i guess.

The idea is to fill the screen so much, flip the switch to 12/12, and carry on training the growing tops under the screen for the first 2 weeks or so into flowering. How much you fill the screen before going 12/12 depends on your strain,,,,,, how it stretches etc when flowered.
If you fill the screen first and let the canopy grow "much more" above it before going 12/12,,,, you wont end up with a nice, low even canopy of buds as intended.

This is a great way to describe it. The ideal situation is to have the 12/12 stretch finish right when the screen is full. Then you have a sea of buds growing above the screen, but a control on the vertical growth. This takes experience to understand and certainly depends on any number of factors; size of container, disctance to the screen, genetics, size of light, environmental factors, and of course the size of the screen. My advice on a first time scrog is to switch to 12/12 when the plant top reaches the screen, you will spend the next 2 weeks doing some serious training and you will be amazed at how quickly the screen fills up. If you under fill, you will still get good results and have respectable first harvest, if you over fill, you will work your ass off and have some great buds and some not so great buds. Either way, you are creating your own, and nothing tastes sweeter. On your next attemp you will have a much better understanding of when to switch. Good luck

Great thread!

I was wondering how big your guys pots are?

I'm on day 28 with my plants. Started them as seeds.

Right now they are in pots that are 6" x 7".

Would these pots be large enough to finish the plants in?

Right now i have 8 unsexed plants and hope to have 3 females finish up in a 1 ft x 3 ft space.

Thanks for any info!
