This is kinda foonee...

I ordered seeds from SB and they are due any day. My nosey awful mother-in-law decides to go get her mail and offers my wife to get her's, too. My MIL is a total bumbling baffoon, votes straight republican, and gets mad at anyone who doesn't. She has her head so far in the sand that she actually wonders why all the new agencies are reporting negative polls on Bush.

Anyway, I overhear her plan to check the mail then conveniently intercept her on the way home. She hands me our mail but I already know her history of goofyitis. I know she's probably mixed up all the mail.

I arrive back at my MIL's place seeing her throw out something. Descreetly, I find she's indeed thrown out something that was addressed to me...ha ha!

Did she also throw out my seed order?

When the seeds come they are pretty discrete. You may have to have a snappy comeback if she asks why you are getting mail from England.

We live in separate apartment units (of course...I ain't that crazy) with separate mailboxes. She just happened to offer to get our mail, too, so my wife gave her the key
This was just a one-shot deal and has never happened before
I'm sure there are a lot stranger posts than this
I just think it was kinda funny...and entertaining

I don't think she threw away the seeds because I would have found that in the trash, too
But you never know...

I'll drop SB an email to be sure

I got some seeds sent to me about 6 months ago. My roomates sister got ahold of my package and opened it and took it out and took it home. I came over to check the mail for that reason and found the package ripped open. I flipped. I went over to her house and about slapped her. I told her to quit digging through shit that wasn't hers. I was worried about her finding the seeds and throwing them away. Luckily she didn't and I got the package back and the seeds were fine. Dumb bitch! she had me mad as fuck.

It's very annoying when people open your mail like it's no big deal. It's a federal offense!

Btw, this same mother-in-law once called my retired parents in Florida and told them I was strung out on crack. Unfortunately, Florida was just going thru a huge crack epidemic. They had to drop everything and fly way out west to see for themselves. They later confided that my horrible mother-in-law had called them acting very "concerned"

I've never forgotten that...She's a loose cannon and I have to keep one step ahead at all times.

If anyone was to take my mail, and through it away or open it, I'd make damn sure that they would never do it again, flip out and threaten them with the fact that its a federal offense.

Unless it is a bill addressed to both of us I don't even open my ladies mail. We have been together for about a decade now. Not once have I opened her mail without her consent.

That is an important thing. Right to privacy should be number one. Quickly followed by individual respect.

As for having to deal with your MIL. I suggest moving. Seriously. Someone who is willing to call your closest family members and spread lies is certainly got something against you. You and your wife should pack up and move to a location that is free from outside involvement.

My Father in law tried to move in, unanounced, with us about 6 years ago. It lasted about 20 minutes. An inlaw, who always know best, is the quickest way to drive a wedge between you and your loved one.
