simple as it gets
I Was just going to forward my experience to the communtiy in hopes it heps someone.
I see people building cabinets and riggin reflectors all the time and I just see it as rather unneccesary(sp). If you buy a 15 gallon white paint bucket from walmart, buy a 40 watt compact flourescent bulb and a plain old worksight reflector, that takes incandescents you have a complete growing site ready to go. You cut the bottom of the bucket out, put the bulb in the reflector put reflector on tub(hole should be large enough for all light to go through but small enough to support the reflector). The plants don't stretch as you are getting so much reflection of the light from the white sides of the bucket. you get stocky plants that bush out quite a lot and it took 10 mintues to build your encloser. If you wanna get fancy you can paint the outside of the bucket or apply duct tape all over it to keep the light from shining through. its dirst cheap its monkey nuts simple and it works flawlessly. if you are really cramped I bet you could flower in there I just never do it. but I keep my bonszai clone mother in one and she is happy as a clam. |

What about venting heat? I enjoy the idea a lot though. That would be a good way to keep a mother under veg cycle, and I might do that later.

Hey stealthballer!
Yeah but people like to grow more then one little 15" bushy plant. Alot of people also try hydro in there cabs and such. Short stocky plants dont yeild as much as a 4 foot 18 bud site girl. I guess you could setup a row of your 5 gals but you'd need to vent that heat out for sure. But its a good idea for someone who doesnt want to spend alot and just wants to grow a plant for fun. heat isn't an issue at all I failed to mention I put a flan blowing across them.
I don't grow for fun, this is how I start all my plants and clones before they go into the flower room. by the time they outgrow the bucket they are the right height for me to flower em. |

Sounds cool to me and I saw where people have their own individual containers with airstones in them for hydro moms. How cool is that man?

i have been tempted when I see the ten foot tall stacks of these buckets to rig up a giant grow tube of sorts and flower out a plant completely using this method with tube flouros running the height of the whole thing. Don't think it will produce what I am used to but for grins it would be something to pass the time.
