Blueblood BX

PROLOGUE
This report is dedicated to the ICMag. user who gifted me these seeds when my stash was sadly empty.

GROW REPORT

STRAIN: Blueblood bx

BREEDER: the user whose I said above

GENETICS: 75% Grimms C99, 25% DJS Blueberry

GERMINATION: 2/2 in less than 18 hours

SEX (f/m/h): 1/1/0

FLOWERING START: 06/26-28

HARVEST: 09/27

ENVIRONMENT: outdoor, pots, 40°-45° N, sea level

SOILS: professional for sowing & cloning and professional for arbustive plants.

NUTRIENTS (VEG.): ½ dose of Phyt-Amin and 1 of Cropmax weekly alternated
NUTRIENTS (FLO.): Alga Bloei every 2 weeks. Starting from ¼ and gradually arriving to 1 dose.

This has been a strange year. I put my seeds in soil in april waiting for the warm spring temperatures to come but they never arrived. Spring was inexistent and we had a winter weather until June when we reached 25°C and then over 30°C in July. Summertime alternated humid and dry weeks. During the humid days I had a pair of mites attacks but nothing particulary hard. I exterminated those lil' bastards with a specific product. Rapidly, efficiently, ruthlessly.
Despite all, the plants grew strong in a columnar, Blueberry, short-branched structure with a light, sweet scent since vegging.
The flowering started early, as you've already read above, and proceeded veeeeeeeeery slowly until August when it exploded in a triumph of intense pure grapefruit aromas. Week after week the odor become more spicy with black pepper undertones. In the end, a very temperate September arrived with warm temperatures... ... ...just like spring had to be if it had ever come.
I'm not an expert of indicas but I think yield can be considered good relatively to the columnar structure. The buds were very dense along the meristem, so you have to pay attention for mold during the drying process.
Today, after the first weeks of curing in natural paper bags, the aroma has become more complex, piney and mentholed.

SMOKE REPORT
The effect is immediate and potent and duration is 2 hours circa. The first hour is almost trippy and you're unable to do anything. Wishes and needs change rapidly in your mind and in your body. Too rapidly to make you end anything of what you've just started. In the 2nd hour you feel its relaxing side until it leaves you almost asleep. Not a day-time weed at all. I'd suggest this strain for insomnia because it's working well to me (sometime it's hard to me to fall asleep).

EPILOGUE
Against all predictions and maybe against the breeder wishes too, the quarter of Blueberry cleary dominates in this strain, as for structure as for effect. I've smoked one joint (or 2 little pipes) of Blueblood bx every night for a week and just after that, I've started to see the possible ceiling but it's far yet.
In the end this BB bx is a high quality indica dom. I hope there will be a BB bx2 soon.

Those are gorgeous Olympikòs!!!! Very interesting that a BX to the Cinderella mother affected the strain by bringing out the Blueberry traits that were recessive in the F1 generation. I'm gonna need to powow with a breeder on that LOL!

Awesome smoke/grow report!!

Very interesting indeed...
I have also been given some of these seeds and am trying to work them into the rotation...
The only explanation I can readily think of for the bx phenotype paradox, is that the mothers fruitiness and bud density along with similar traits in the father, along with the indica structure of the grandfather.... However, with only two representitaves of the backcross being examined, there is no way to tell... could be a small sampling of the seeds came out thus, and as more of these seeds are grown out, the nature of the outcome of the backcross can be better looked at and explained...
When I germ mine, I'll do them all at once...

Excellent report, BTW....

Thanks for your kind words.

The male one grew very similar, just a little taller. BTW you're right Grat3fulh3ad, they're too few samples to say anything.

Looks nice. Probably not gonna be the happiest day for anyone who might be considering a cross of Blueberry and the Blood sativa!

Very nice! I'm assuming the taste is very similar to sweettooth as the makeup is very similar. Awesome cross either way.
