Hi, I will have some extra time on my hands this semester and want to grow perhaps in a Tupperware or custom sized container under my bed. I have never grown before but I have plenty of width and length and thought 3 plants in a rectangular sort of bin would be possible if you can grow plants in as little as 18 inches of vertical space. That would have to include space for lights and the distance taken up by plants sitting in some type of pot or soil base.
I'm pretty clueless here and I sort of wish I had been growing last year where I basically could have had it as easy as buying lights and pots and putting them in the closet. I rented in a frat house and the whole place reeked of cannabis all the time and I had these two giant closets. Now I'm in campus housing with my own room. It's no where near as safe as before, just so long as no one goes in the plastic bin under my bed. (Assuming I do that) I saw someone who grew inside a PC case and thought hmm, just maybe. It would need to be low odor if possible or I'd need some way to seal the container and whenever I open it, vent the smell out of my room. Are there low odor strains and can you even grow cannabis in 18 inches of vertical space? |

Wow I seriously would not recommend this, not in a dorm, with so many other people living there. Why not wait until you are more on your own in an apartment or something?
18 inches...I am not sure that is do-able anyway although I have seen people grow in some tiny spaces before. |

I remember someone from OG growing under the bed and everyone said he SHOULD avoid it, cause of heat and electricity going under the bed.
Hard to say it's safe, and it will be hard to do any maintenance every time you have to push up your matress. Dont want to let you down on it, but think safety first. |

honestly, is 18 inches going to yield the risk of getting kicked out of college? just my thoughts.. walmart sells a cabinet thats 24 inches tall about 14 deep by 12 wide.. i dont have the ballls to grow on a campus, although the cool thing is you wouldnt have an electric bill..

Only 18 inches to work with? That's what my girlfriend said last night! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Yeah dude I'm in the situation where I'm all moved out, pay my own bills and blah blah blah....but I live with a roommate who isn't comfortable with me growing. So I'm biting the bullet and not growing until I get my own place. You could easily fuck yourself over for the rest of your life if you get busted growing. And considering you're in a dorm, I'm guessing it's considered school property, so you would be FUCKED. So bite the bullet, find a cheap hook up, and start buying in mass quantities because it's cheaper.

i reckon it could be done, but your going to have to be creative and not expect too much yeild.
scrog has to be the only way to go, if you have the pots next to the screen as opposed to under it youl save alot of space, alough it isnt an ideal situation to grow in. i think youl have to go with fluoros too becuase of space and heat. yeild will be a little on the paultry side though. if you feeling really ambitous look up the box of green grow, which is bassically a horizontal tubular scrog. with some nice wattage cfls in there you could probably pull a nice yeild considdering. you could also make the tubes quite long and fill with more floros but it will increase veg time. also construction will be more complex. maybe you could have a long tube and have several smaller plants along it in order to shorten veg time and increase yeilds. give a go, see what happens and then show us pictures
