going crazy in the COCO!! 250watts coco grow(N.Y.C.D, critical mass, arjenīs haze)
whats up evreybody, well itīs been a wile since my last grow and my urge to cultivate was getting bigger by the day,so as soon as i was able, ive reactivated my grow.this time im going to use coco instead of soil, after reading some articules and grow diaries i was very curious to trie it.im sticking to my 250 watts hps, one of the main factors is the affordable amount of heat that it produces, and if i get as mutch as my last run is enouf for me, 150 grams(5 oz) in a similar grow but in soil and diferent strains- jack herer, ww, and hash plant.
the strains that i will use in this grow will be, N.Y.C.D 4 plants, critical mass 3 plants, arjenīs haze 1 plant, all in one big container filled with coco, and added perlite vermiculite and bio super mix.i will trie to keep this apdated as i will be using this as a grow log for me.any opinions and avices are wellcomed. PS:english is not my base language so my apologies in advanced. coco 50L-from canna perlite and vermiculite bio super mix by plagron vermiculite and perlite added bio super mix added roots used plants overall view Last edited by i_score; 11-09-2006 at 04:25 AM.. |

for now the coco as been great, especialy for the roots and that will result in a healthy plant,im going to give some more time for them to veg but im limited in vertical space, so canīt veg them too long.peace |

hi tml 16, thankīs for stoping by, yes i did mentioned that ive sprouted 3 power chunk beans,im not using them for this run, they are going in to my veg chamber once i flip the other ones to 12/12 cycle, itīs a cross from Tom hillīs deep chunk with a power plant, but i can ardly see something other than deep chunk in this cross, the indica dominance is very strong in power chunk so i belive that the power plant didnīt afect that mutch in this cross. peace

Hey i_score
It looks like you're using the coco in a soil application. So you're gonna use the "heft test" or a moisture meter? I have used numerous soilless mixes since I've been growing...and the vermiculite has some intense water retention capability....This is what's so cool about coco, in my view....it is easily adaptable to a growers style...I go for the hydro "NFT" effect...handwatering with runoff (low PPM's) daily....wondering what your thoughts were on watering and moisture levels in the mix you got going on.... peace

hey Marley thanks and wellcome!! itīs very nice to have fellow coco growers to exchange ideas.
hello -VT- , im still experimenting and trying to adapt to coco and the moisture of the substract, iīm a litlle apreensive about not doing flushes but itīs just not an option for me right now, i have only watered once and with 5 L and itīs still moisted so i think that the vermiculite will have some big role in this grow, it seems that i can go longer whithout watering in coco that wen i used soil.for feeding im using a root stimulator from Hesi, and some fishmix from biobizz, the plants are realy green and growing well so im pretty satisfied so far, letīs see how this turnīs out.
