HEAT ISSUES NEED YOUR TECHNICAL EXPERTISE!!!

hey guys, i need your help in a matter of technical expertise. im building a grow cab and am concerned about heat build up as i will be using a 600w HPS in a
2' x 3' x 6' area (yes thats 100 watts per sq ft.). now at first i was thinking of using a small airconditioning unit but now am thinking a good squierl fan will be the better choice. if this is the case how powerful a fan would i need? what do you guys think wuts the best way to keep my cab cool under such condtions?

Well from what I've read you need about 1CFM per Watt for HPS, or 1/3 CFM per Watt of CFL. Now take what I say with a grain of salt, as my indoor experience is just coming to a start as of now (I too am a novice). Is stealth a high concern of yours? Because those Stanley Blowers I've seen on the site seem fairly cheap, move LOTS of air, but sadly are fairly noisy. They won't work for my setup, but perhaps for you it could save you some money.

Before the more experienced people answer I guess I'll ask the questions they will want to know. What's your intake setup like? Do you have a cooltube for your light? Are you using a carbon scrubber? And uh...actually I'm outta questions. However better intakes will help, and a cooltube really could save you tons of problems. You have six feet of height, so heat may not be as much of an issue as someone in a PC Case or Rubbermaid, but you're smart to start thinking about ways to get it under control ahead of time.

in response to your questions i probably will be using a carbon scrubber, i wont be uding a cool tube (space), and intake i was planning was going to be via negative pressure. let me know what you think, thanks for your previous reply.

600 watts would never be considered a "micro grow"
but , to answer your question.... i would reccommend a inline centrifugal fan
like a vortex or ellicent brand with a speed control.
to cool a 600w light in such a small space you will need at the very least an air-cooled hood or cool tube
also i'm just curious...why a 600w and not a 400w in your space?
100 watts per foot may be overkill , idealy you would want 50-75 watts psf

and if you do opt for a vortex fan or similar, i would say to size up and get speed control so that you can fine tune your ventilation .....you may need more in summer and less in winter

good luck to ya

thanks for your post it got me thinking. wut if a used one of those stanely fans attaches it to an air cooled hood with the intake to the grow box at the botton of the box (to pull in cool air via negative pressure) that way i would have pretty much all the hot air pulled out immediatly. wut do u guys think?
