Computer Stealth Version 1.0
Hi fellow builders!
As you can see I am a new member to this wonderful underground world of growing weed! The weird part of being that I feel I know all of you guys for so long and seem like we are best friends. I have been reading your post for months and finally feel the courage to sign up and share my build with all of you. I hope that we can learn from one and other. I will probably learn more from you guys then you will for me since I have never even kept a plant alive for longer then a day. As the title says I am building a computer stealth box. I have about 5 computers in my office home, and feel that one extra computer growing my fantastic weed will not be noticed by anyone. So let me show you some pictures, what I have done so far. Case Dimension 8.1"W x 26.4"H x 18.6"D This will be my grow box. Closed and ready to grow. I am still in the building stages and not even close to growing anything yet. The tape drive will be something similar like I seen on Reds Greenery. There is going to be two boxes that fit in one and other to easy change out the Active Carbon. Right now I am in the cutting out the bottom of the box and that is taking forever. Will show you more pics in a later on.

I love computer grows, they're always so great looking to see a plant grown in such a confined space. I couldnt however, justify the amount of time spent for the yield, but its great that people do them! Yours looks great

Lookin good man!
One of the PC cases I'm growing in is the exact same model as the one you have, only in black instead of white. It's a huge case and your certainly not going to have any problems controling height in there if you flower early. I gotta admit though... using that tape drive to conceal a carbon filter is freakin brilliant! Very creative! Any ideas yet on what kind of lighting your going to be using (HPS, CFL, Envirolight) or what the medium will be (soil or hydro)? In the second pic in your second post it looks like there are some sockets for CFLs mounted at the top, but I can't tell for sure. Anyway, great looking case! I'm very excited for you and will be following this thread closely for sure. Welcome to the PC case grower's club my new friend

So how early do you flower? I got to admit though... using that tape drive to conceal a carbon filter is freakin brilliant! Very creative! Thanks had to think of a good way to hide everything. I really don't want anything out side the case to give anything away. I have to kids and don't want them to know what I am doing Any ideas yet on what kind of lighting your going to be using (HPS, CFL, Envirolight) or what the medium will be (soil or hydro)? In the second pic in your second post it looks like there are some sockets for CFLs mounted at the top, but I can't tell for sure. You are right those are sockets for CFLs. I think I am going to put four on top and then two hanging as low as I can to the plant till it grows and they get all the light from the top CFLs I have no idea yet on Soil or Hydro. At first I thought hydro but I really don't know. I must say all the advice I see on how to do it scares me a little just so much information. I would like it to be as easy as possible for my first grow just to see what I can expect. Well thanks for coming by; will try to get some work done on the case to day but looks like it will be closer to tomorrow before I can truly work on it. Thanks! Quick update
I am cutting the hole in the old DLT drive. This is a real slow process because my battery dies every couple of minutes on the tool I use. As you can see I am almost done with it and this took me three days. Don't have the extra cash to go buy a new tool so must do with what I have right now. cya

you should probably use soil as your medium (alot more forgiving to new growers). and i think you should put a 50w or 70w HPS in there. CLFs just can't give you the buds that HPS can, not enough energy in the light. Supplementing with CFLs wouldn't be a bad idea though

Soil probably would be a easier grow, but hydro just seems pretty cool. But thanks for the advice. Still have lots of reading to do to make that decision. thanks!
