Feminized beans?
RM or Luci
I notice that you offer some of your strains as fem. only. I have not had that good of luck with fem. beans, they always had hermie tendecies. I grew out some DP Mazar feminized and it was a handfull keeping the occational hermie male flower under control. What process do you use to fem. the line? is it more or less likely to produce hermies? Blue Alaskan, Wakeford, OPTxBlurberry sativa, Blueberry sativa, and Grapefruit sound real tasty but I am leary of the feminized only availability. Damn that OPTxBlueberry cross sounds nice Thanks in advance Tex |

TK and Bartender
There are 2 chemicals that are used to turn a true female into a flower producer. This pollen is then used to pollinate a pure female, either of the same strain or in a hybrid.STS and Giberellic acid are the 2 chemicals capable of preforming this action. If this is done with a plant that does not easily herm, then it should produce great results with no herms. The reason you have had problems is because of the plants that were selected to treat.Obviously some are not going to work as planned and these are usually the females that can be easily stressed into producing herm flowers.
It boils down to stress-testing the offspring for herm tendencies.I'm going to have to go this route to get the Superfruit (pure) to market.(no males)Take care fellas...............CC |

the dutch companies including DP mostly use gibberilic acid, we use a proprietary mix of sts and cobalt

I thought GA had many negative effects associated with its use...
STS + Cobalt huh what made you want to add the cobalt? Last edited by GreenintheThumb; 07-24-2004 at 01:34 AM.. |

the sts and cobalt have been used as ethylene biosynthesis inhibitors since the late 70's, I found much good info in obscure scientific papers so it was just a matter of how and when to apply and how much which I figured out through trial error and at the expense of a few clones
our next fem releases will be Oregon Purple Thai hybrids, but not for a few months yet |
