Can any1 tell me how far away from my plants to put a 70w hps?
Also how far away does a 150w hps need2 b ?
Can any hps security light b converted to a remote ballast growlight?
Got 3 clones vegging under envirolites at min, just considering my options b4 putting em on 12/12(was/am gunna flower with enviros at min)

the effective range for 70w hps is something like 8" and the effective range for 150 is 12-14" i think. someone on here always has a chart, if you do a little searching it shouldn't be too hard to find. most security lights can be (relatively) easily converted to remote ballast lights. if you're not doin a perpetual grow think about using the envirolights for sidelighting and get a 70w hps to go along with them, just either make a cooltube for it or keep a fan blowing on it to keep the ambient heat down

Why mount sideways? Do u mean so light is shining horizontaly not down??? please explain

Sorry 4 been thick but cant find anything about light mounted sideways.from pics ive seen all seem to b pointing down. why cant it face down? cos of heat from bulb???

Think i know where im gettin mixed up(straight headed !) u mean the bulb horizontal.
i was thinking about relocating ballast but leaving bulb in origional casing and building reflector of it. so thought you was meaning mount on side wall shining diagonally down + across(like security light meant to be) not hanging from top of cab shining down(bulb will be horizontal)

The sides of the bulb give the best lighting, not the tip. So if you can get them laying horizontal, you will get better lighting on your plants.

aaah, u was talking about enviro's ! Thought u was telling me to mount x security light on side wall shining sideways n down. Thats how i've got enirolite now. Thanks 4 help anyway.(il probabley,definatley in fact need it again)
