from everything ive read here, ive gathered that mixed spectrum is the way to go. hopefully the experts will chime in here.

Good question, wondering something similar here. For veg would it be best to have say 40W 6000 and 40 W 2700 or 80W 2700? And for flowering 150W HPS and 2 40W 2700 or 6000 CFL?
I think that makes sence...

Alright until someone who has experimented with this sort of thing chimes in I'm gonna give my 2 cents.

More lumens/watts = more bud. If you were gonna use one big full spectrum bulb that puts out say 10,000 lumens as opposed to two smaller bulbs that each put off 7,000 lumens each I'd go with the two smaller bulbs. Why? Because the more lumens you have, the more bud you're gonna get.

Personally I'd put as many lights as you can in there mixed spectrum. BUT...if you still have room for another light throw in a full spectrum bulb for shits and giggles.

your gonna want the intake 2x the exhast...so if u have a 5 in exaust you would need a 10 in hole or two 5 in holes...

hl8, another hole will be fine. As far as the spectrum, I have found in my experience that my plants responded better to the cool (blue) cfls much better in veg. It would be a great experiment. If you were to mix spectrums, I would do it in small amounts. Hope this helped.

i use red greens intake setup....only one fan in the exaust. that way you can "suck" the air threw. id only use the ex. fan its worked fine for me so far. the main bud cab is at a steady 70-80 F and thats with only 4 2 in holoes on the botttom to 2 3.5 in ex.

from reds lodge...

"If I remember from way back, the OG faq said about 15 watts/sq foot for seedlings and 30 watts for veg and 50 watts for flowering. A couple of 20 watters is enough to get the seedlings going. A seedling is a newborn baby that has to be treated gently." -red

as for when to veg..id like ot know too ive got some seedlings started and wanna know when to kick up the lgithing
