watering plants....your methods

i hope that this thread will put some insight on a grey area i still need to work on....watering technic is different from grower to grower...hopefully you guys can post some new ideas and possibly correct mistakes i or others have made.

i just finished watering my remaining two plants who are riddled with yellow and dead leaves.... about 95% of all the major fan leaves have fallen off leaving only leaves on the bud sites...im pretty sure my 85 degree temps, coupled with the incredible drop in temps @ night time and novice watering methods have contributed if not fully to blame for my horrible and ugly leaves...aside from that i think mold might be an issue...so is potency and over all plant health...

watering my plants that are in 4 gallon pots with plastic sauvers to collect drainage, i usually find the excess run off to be yellow and stinky....is that normal?? in other words should the water that comes out be slightly cler and not yellow(like urine) color? i usually feed them nutrients every 2-3 wks depending on what they tell me from the leaves, but lately no matter what i do they turn yellow and die(fan leaves)...not just a few here n there..butusually ALL of them..... im glad i dont have a 90 day sativa strain going....

when i water i water slowly, but only recently did i start doing this..a few weeks ago my grow room was cramed with plants and i couldnt easily bend over n feed each one slowly so i might have fed them very fast a few times....is that bad?

also one last thing....i most deff do not over feed or over water my plants...can yellow leaves and necrotic deqad fan leaves also be a part of sever malnourishment?? same thing goes with taste and size of calyxes...if they are small and tasting weird..ist hat because they were not fed and given everything they needed to live? ill be posting pics soon..but trust me they are ugly....the remaing leaves are standing normally(no droops or claws).....but they are just severly yellow

Hey, crunks! Yellowish water is ok, but you said it stinks? Is the water cloudy, or somewhat? If so, its root rot. H2O2 will help take care of that. Root rot will cause all those problems you stated in your post, i.e. small calaxes, malnurshment, ect.......

As far as watering goes, I just use the good ol' lift the pot method. If I cant tell by that, Ill put my finger in the soil. If its dry an 1" to 2" down, then its time to water! Ususally works out to about every 3 days. And when I water, I found that 1 gal. of water is perfect for 4 gal. containers. Just dump it in, wait for water level to go down, and fix soil. Done. Hope this helps!! L.V.

First of all!!!

think of your soil medium as one big "pot" of bacteria feeding supply, because in essence this is all it needs to be. With todays nutrients along with premixes, that have there own supplys, people tend to overnut the shit out of there plants a lot from not realizing this, just adding away the n-p-k.....

2nd of...aereation is key you need good water retention as well remember it usually starts before you even water!

nut feed once to twice a week depending on strain, feed with tea's every few days, depending on plant.

Well, a lot of ppl say start off with a 1/4 teaspoon then work your way up to 1 1/2 teaspoons like you would a fert. I start off at 1 teaspoon, and stay there throughout the grow. Works like a charm. But, its up to you crunks!

turn tea off?? how do you mean?? im a soil grower is that for hydro?? i just ordered bio biz rgow and bloom...im going to order algamic and some form of bud booster...i have budswell bat guano(wormcasting guano tea) and ill either be using black gold or ocean forest soil next time...is this a good start for my fully organic grow?

im also moving my grow into a speerate bedroom where the temps will be @ 72 the entire time....my closet had no a/c vent and was suffering in 85 degree temps....im stoked about this next set up illbe doing some great improvements...i cant wait to get started :P

im also supremely excited about the honey bee oil extractor and the ice-o-lator bags im getting i cant wait to get to work...my friend has an ounce of shak and an ounce of bud to convert to hash and oil and i am going to match him hopefully it will come out good our first time, ill be making threads on here about both processez

turn the tea off! or youll burn your fuckin house down, I left it on i think like 3 times last garden...lol

your superswell (bat tea) is the best for dank, by far and away the most helpful thing ive seen used and have used.....I dont think any grower will say otherwise, I heard a lot of great stuff about compost though, but i already use a mychrozia additive that stimulates bacterial growth.

The FoxFarm Ocean Forrest is perfect for a 100% organic grow. Thats exactly what I use for my 100% organic grow (besides the H2o2, and Superthrive ). As far as that other soil is concerned, Ive never used it, so I couldnt tell ya, but I hear its highly reccomended. As far as your new setup and honey oil/ice bag hash goes, I cant wait to see those threads up and running!! L.V.
