Hi, I am on a budget and I was over on the seedboutique trying to lock down the bare minimum, best bang for the buck.

Of course Nirvana's was the dominating set here, and I eventually ran down to 4 must have's:

NL
Haze
Skunk
Kush

So, thats $60 and genetics according to Icmag are a crapshoot. I am thinking maybe that's just cause Nirvana is going thru a bit of a publicity dip, or perhaps ppl are right.

Regardless, I really want those 4 strains and as I was daydreaming and browsing through the more reputable yet more expensive shops, I ran across Mr Nice Seeds, and found the Dreamtime with this description:

Now, I was ecstatic to find this (exactly what I was looking for) for half of what Nirvana is asking and from one of the celebrated breeders.

Now my question is this, how are the seeds packaged? Are there 15 all in a bag swimming together? Or smaller labelled bags of 4-5 beans?

You see what I want to do is very simply this: Take the 4 genetics, every 4-5 months pop 4-5 beans from a specific line to replenish the beans, allowing both males and females to flower together, so eventually I will get a safe/sustainable supply of pure NL, Haze, Afghan and Skunk.

My goal is to dissapear with a self sustainable supply. I landed quite accidently on these 4, as I removed other strains from my list but simply could not remove these 4. I view them as the building blocks of life I guess, imagine my surprise when I saw all 4 offered by shantibaba in 1 collection!

Well, I really hope they are seperate so I can grow out more beans for these building blocks and go underground, so if anyone has bought these before, please let me know how it is marketed.

If they are all swimming together I think I will cry.

High Heirloom! unfortunately those seeds are mixed and the mix contains about 10 Mr.Nice strains... so it is about selection of those individuals which you will find most suitable for you!

Dreamtime is Mr Nice's indoor mix, I grew out Wlakabout, the outdoor mix and what a variety of plants. I never found a keeper in my pack but it was one of the old packs and therefore germ rates were lower due to being old seeds. I only ended up with 5 plants, only got one female and it was a Hazey lady that took an age to finish. She had a lot of triches and was potent, but buds were airy. I reckon you'll see a lot of variation and all kinds of plants in Dreamtime, but knowing Shanti's genetics, you;ll find some excellent individuals.

I'll end up going with nirvana then, maybe i'll get some interesting pheno's from his seeds too no? Make things interesting I guess

Heirloom, all the current stock is fresh. There should be no problem in germination. It is hard to beat Shanti's genetics. I would pick it up, chances are that there is something in there that will do you fine. If you must buy Nirvana seeds, I would stay away from the Haze and the NL. Neither has ever gotten very good reviews. If you want Skunk, get the Pure from The Flying Dutchmen or Skunk #1 from Sam the Skunkman at Seedsman. They are only a little more than Nirvana's and they are the original Sk#1.

this may sound like heresy, but what do you think of this?

I buy dreamtime, sprout and grow 5 beans (leaving 10)

I grow them out naturally, and chances are at least one will be a male. I allow them to do what comes naturally for young plants to do, and then I harvest the seed. Repeat this process twice more.

Now I have a mixxed bag of a few hundred insane crosses for me to grow out whenever.
