Hey Guys.
Well, as noted recently in my diary thread, I had to tear down my grow due to my building's management becoming aware of it...they did not care that I was legal under california law as a medical patient. So, short of moving, which is difficult right now, I am trying to find another space in which I could continue growing. I know alot of growers rent space for dedicated grow setups, and do not live at the same address that they grow in. I'm really hoping to get some tips on how to make this happen, LEGALLY IN CA. What types of space do you rent... commercial or residential? For those that operate legally in California, do you disclose your activities to the owner or keep them under wraps? How have other tenants reacted to your activity and non-residence at the grow space? I know this is probably a touchy topic for the obvious security reasons...but I'm hoping to get some tips on this if possible! I'm in the Los Angeles area if that helps. Thanks. |

your lanlord does not have to know what you do as long as its legal. Not to mention you have no idea who your landlord might tell. DO NOT TELL HIM or ANYONE. unless they work in your garden, which doesnt sound like an issue. rent a commercial space is my advice. a small warehouse. 1000sq ft. then go to town. if you can't then just get a two bedroom and have a grow room and a momma/baby room.
Other tenants should not be reacting to you as you should be doing nothing to make them react. if you act suspicious then you look guilty already. do it with a smile and tell no one.

Perfect situation is find a landlord that smoke's the ganja, and then not tell him, that way if he finds out all you have to do is smoke him out :O

Good luck "going to town" in a 1000sqft commercial warehouse, when you can't even get away with a 10sqft grow in your apartment. The upside is that you'll get much better (commercial) rates without that whole baseline crap from PG&E. Downside is that you'll likely be paying down that PG&E bill from a federal penitentiary.

DO NOT inform the landlord that you grow. PERIOD.
Because if a landlord finds out that you grow, and does nothing about it, he/she could lose the property to federal forfeiture laws. Thus, landlords have he power to evict tenants who grow medical marijuana. Reference: https://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/h...1----000-.html In Raich V Gonzalez (2005), two California medical marijuana patients sued after the DEA raided their private homes and destroyed their medical cannabis. There was no question that the two patients were in serious need of cannabis; doctors testified that one of them was in such excruciating pain without it that her life was in danger. DEA didn't care. The Supreme Court held that the Federal law prohibiting cannabis cultivation could be enforced in California, even in the face of Prop 215 expressly permitting it. So the Feds can still enforce ALL of the Federal laws against cannabis cultivation, whether you have a State permit or not. Reference: https://a257.g.akamaitech.net/7/257/2...df/03-1454.pdf |

What are your requirements? Would leagal grow in CA mean 6 plants? How much space you need? I agree with the don't tell the landlord in most cases.

yes, 6 plants...eventually 12 if I become a caregiver for another individual. I really just need, ideally, a 100sq ft room with water and power. and I could make do with a fair amount less space if necessary.

^ heh, yes...this would be a no good, very bad, ill-advised idea.
but for the record, I'm not retarded, I went to great lengths to secure and conceal my grow, and the slip-up that got me caught was more bad luck than anything. |
