Espresso makers
Ok, here's the dealie going on. My hubby and I have a bet riding on one of tonight's hockey games. If my team wins, I get the Espresso maker of my choice. If his team wins, he gets a PS2.
Now, I'm trying to figure out which company has the best Espresso maker for under $100, and right now I'm looking at a Krups Espresso maker on sears.com. Last week, we were at Williams-Sonoma, and I WAS drooling over a decked out Jura Espresso maker.....waaaay to expensive, though, quadruple digit range..... Can anyone suggest any quality ones for around or under $100?

I had a Krups double shot espresso maker with steam that I really enjoyed. Think it was around a hundred. Krupps makes good stuff, I'd look into theirs.

Krups is a good brand from what I hear. I have a 2 cup DeLonghi which comes in well under 100 bux these days infact you probly get the next one or two up and still be ok for your $.
I never had another one so I don't have a comparison but this one works well even when heavily overloaded. I like my expresso strong and in 4's. It takes 4 expresso cups to fill the travelmug. The machine only heats about 75 or so ml per cycle so I have to turn on, heat, run, heat, run etc. If you want bigger than spresso check what size of "water heater reservoir" it has in it. Not the normal reservoir but the heated part. I dont know if they come bigger but if they were say 2x the amount it would be better in my opinion. Do you have sabco where you are. That is a big brand here with lots of fully automated ones but i'm not spending $2000 on a home coffee machine good luck with your choice, nothing beats fresh brewed treb

I would like to point you over to the Coffeegeek.com forums. https://www.coffeegeek.com/forums They are quite informative. If you like espresso they will show you the light. Most of the lower end models don't have enough PSI to make true espresso. I looked at my purchase as an investment. I droped nearly $500 on a Rancillio siliva and a grinder, Last year. I have saved at least double that. $3 for a double latte, plus tip everyday adds up. Good luck!

Thanks for the site, Blade, going there as I type
![]() And for the lack of anything better going on tonight, a brief ramble---- He came in and asked me, "Who do you think'll win in a match-up, Hurricanes or Lightning?" I didn't even have to think about it, I said, "Hurricanes." "But the Lightning beat them in their last game, I think they'll do it again tonight." I said, "I think they just got lucky. Hurricanes'll win." "Yeah, right. Wanna make a bet on that?" *DING DING DING DING!* The gears started turning ![]() "Sure, whatcha gonna bet on this?" "I want a PS2 if the Lightning wins. If the Hurricanes win, you get an Espresso maker." "Deal!" You shoulda seen the long face he had when the game hit 3-0, and the scowl on his face when it was 5-0 in the 3rd period. Lightning got lucky in the last 2 or 3 minutes with a goal, though. Ahh, it's always sweet when you know a bet's a sure win I'm thinking about going with a Krups...
