Well I don't grow hydro veggies but I do grow veggies. Right now I have tomatos, letuce, peppers. Its funny I get almost just as satisfaction from growing veggies as I do MJ. Exept you can't get stoned off letuce, so I guess there is still a reason to grow weed thank god.

I love growing peppers in the summer -- and thats not something I do indoor. Thats an outdoor thing where the hot texas sun gives em that extra kick

I grow what we generally call asian greens. I've tried growing broccolli and cauliflower and cabbage but I don't have enough light - only 1x 400 hps and my weed takes priority.
I've recently sprouted some red peppers (capsicum).

Do you have a feeding regime? I just chuck in a bit of hydro mix every now and again and top up with water. It's a hit and miss affair.

I'm mostly growing in a flat (tray) with perlite, though some Chinese mustard and pak choy I have growing in seedling pots.

I'm trying to get a tier system around my weeds (in a tubbler) happening to make the most of the light and maximise my veggie growing space.

ive wanted to ask that question 2

ive been growing hydro herbs (really....culinary herbs) for
some time now. I first heard of hydro as it relates to cannabis.
I wanted to do some reasearch on hydro...but didnt want to
go as far as to buy a book on hydro cannabis...so i went to the
local public library and checked out every book they had on
hydro gardening. i was hooked. I just grow herbs, no veggies
or fruit. Basil is my favorite crop, very high rate of growth in
hydro systems. My 1st gardens (made out of big yogurt
containers!!!) are still in action, DWC and SWC!!

After learning how easy hydro is to do, I set my sites on
growing my own herb (the chronic), and eventually that
led me to IC.

in a small space on my patio, next to a few bagseed plants
i have..
Genovese Basil
Magical Michael Basil (my fav)
Thai Basil (fantastic)
Cilantro (some call it coriander)
Parsley
TriColor Sage
Purple Sage
French Tarragon (hard as hell to grow hydro, if you know
anything about the plant....)
Lavender (just for kicks)
Orange Balsam Thyme (sounds as good as it is)
Chocolate Thyme (sounds alot better than it is)
Lemon Thyme

anyway....this post is getting way 2 long. My GH nutes work
wonders on everything...

(im) high again

Journeyman-

i was just re-reading my post, and got to thinking
about the import of this thread. i dont know if anyone
else would be interested, but i think a major thread
(maybe even a catagory) on this subject would be great.
After all we are all garderners, and a green thumb is a
green thumb. I would love to here about different growers
(pot) talk about their other projects (fruits, veggies, and herbs).

We all feel the same about one having homegrown herb
at their disposal, well tomatoes and peppers should be
no different. You will never look at cooking the same way
again if you have a supply of fresh produce to work with.
Anyone who has ever grown heirloom tomatoes can attest
to the difference in flavor compaired to their insipid supermarket
cousins....not even the same plant...

anyway thanks for the spark J-Man. Im about to watch Chong
on a Leno rerun on NBC up all night. Thank god he's free.

soggy-

dude, ive read some of your threads....if you can grow weed
like that...a big patch of veggies should be no prob for you..
you got a green damn thumb...i hope i can grow as well as
you.

all in all cannabis is a really tough plant to grow...it needs a
very special nute regiment, high levels of light and alot
of maint.

no veg. or fruit should give YOU a problem. Keep us posted.

-Sam

ps. I just put a pot of magical michael basil in my new fluorex
veg box with my bagseed plants....looks\smells fantastic

oh.....dude you want to open a resturant....thats one of my alltime
goals...a small (5-10 tables) place where neighbourghood people
can come and get superhigh quality organic, hydroponic
(hydroganic) food grown on site with no refrig...microwaves...
ohh man...you just got me going...just charge enough to pay
your employees and rent...people would flock to you..talk
about positive karma

As I am getting set up for my first "grow," I have thought a lot about growing herbs as well. And possibly some veggies too.

My s/o {who has crossed over the half-century mile marker} has a few ailments, for which I believe several herbs may help, based on reading I have done.

Who knows! I could be the next eBay Herbalist! LMfAO...

Sam, I've not looked {Google'd}, and I am sure I could find it if I did... But for the purpose of conversation, where do you do you get your herb {nonCannabis} seeds?

Thanx!
