First grow!! Cab with Envirolites.

Hello all, posted a few times and been lurking a while. Recently moved to the UK from NY. Going to keep an update of my grow to get comments and advice since this is my first time.

Down to the components.

2.6'W x 1.5'D x 3.5'T Cab.
125 watt envirolite (Blue Spectrum) for Veg.
200 watt envirolite (Red Spectrum) for Flower
2 x 6.5 liter pots (1.7 Gallons for you U.S. guys)
I got some soil and perlite
pH down
Biocanna (Bio Flores)
Biocanna (Bio Vega)

I dont have the cabinet just yet, so I started up in my cupboard. once I get the cab i'll decide on a fan. Either a RVK 100mm or some computer fans (since the light doesnt put out too much heat).

The seeds I got are named "The Church" from Green House Seed Co. Feminized.
Genetics: Swiss Sativa, Skunk, Super Skunk, Northern Lights.

I put 2 of them in Jiffy Peat pots and next to a 60 watt incandescent for heat on Wednesday, they popped Thursday night and Friday I put them under the 125 Blue spectrum fluro. This is what they look like now!

Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Looks like you have it sorted already! If you can i would get a fan blowing over the enviro it helps to get them close. I think the bio canna i good have been using it for a while, the flores doesnt have so much nitrogen but you can easily mix a bit of veg in if needed.
Good luck with your Grow!

Hi munkie,
Good work on gettin them seeds started, sounds like youre ready to roll.
Imo, you should get the rvk 100 fan for the cab, although the enviros dont put out as much heat as HIDs, if you plan on keepin the cab shut most of the time, the heat will build up pretty quickly, especially if you have the 2 lights on when your flowering (which you should ). Computer fans are a good addition for the cab's intake though, rather than them being passive...
Also another tip: you get better light coverage if you hang those envirolights horizontally, rather than having dangle down. You can get cheap reflectors that fit enviro bulbs here:
https://theonlineelectricalwholesaler...p?cpath=88_268
(they also have the fans @ reasonable price too).
Good choice on the nutes, canna have been working well for me so far (been using the chem soil range tho, not bio). Canna also have other additives that you might want to consider if you can spare the $ : Cannazym, Rhyzotonic, PK13-14, Boost Accelerator, BioBoost...

Good luck with the rest of your grow, let us know how everything's coming along

Peace

Hmm quick question, at this point when the jiffy pots look like they need water, Ive just been sprinkling droplets until the soil looks moist again. Should I be adding ph down to the water Im giving them, Or is it more for when I start mixing nutes in?

Tokabowl, as you can see in one of the pics I posted, my light is horizontal already... unfortunately it only has a spot for 1 light... if I can figure something out, maybe I will find a cheap ballast and somehow rig a second light in my cab.

Since I will be coming back to the U.S. in mid december, I was planning on vegging for 2 weeks and flowering for 8 and letting the bud cure for a few weeks while Im gone. Any problems with this timeline?

Ok, just took a look at the bottom of the jiffy pots and saw the roots sticking out. At this point, when do I want to put them in the big pot?

What pH is the water you are giving them at the moment? Generally, you want to be watering them with a solution of pH around 6.5. It should be ok for the moment, but you'll want to adjust the pH once you've transplanted to bigger pots and proper soil. If you haven't already got one, you should get yourself a digi pH tester, well worth the $, it'll save a lot of hassle in the future.

lol, yea sorry i completely missed the first pic in your first post with the light and reflector... was too stoned yesterday hehe...
Envirolights tho are self ballasted (you dont need a ballast to power them, just the cord and a plug: like this light hanger here: https://theonlineelectricalwholesaler...ath=88_254_258)
Since your cab isnt that tall, relectors might not be essential (sorry bout the conflicting info in my posts...) and you might try to find a way of hanging them both in the cab w/o any reflector:
This is how i hang my 2 200W enviros in my cab (cant fit reflectors):

More wattage = more buddage...

Shouldnt be any probs, sounds just right, im on the same kinda timeline as you, but youre a step ahead, my seeds havent even yet germed lol...

Sounds like you could transplant them as soon as you want, make sure you put them in medium size pots first so they develop a nice root ball before they go into their final big pot for flowering. You'll want to transplant them again a couple of days before you switch to 12/12 (this is so they dont get the stress from the transplant and the light schedule switch at the same time...). Transplanting during the flower stage isnt recommended however as the stress might lead to hermie issues...

Thats all i can think of for the time being, let us know if you have any more Qs, well be happy to help!

Good luck, have fun and stay safe,

Peace

Hey all, just a little update. Moved the jiffy pots into the larger pots and they seem to be doing just fine. I pH balanced some water and made sure the jiffy pots are moist. This is day 6. My cab should hopefully be here this week and I can start customizing it and moving my babies into their permanent home!

Hey all, just keeping with my updates. Plants seem to be doing well. One is somewhat bigger than the other. If you look above in my previous post you can see the roots coming out of the Jiffy pot. The one on the left, the root was pretty far out so I ended up slicing a part of the jiffy pot and replanted the root (within the same jiffy). I dont think I hurt it, but maybe it's growth was stunted a bit?

Leaves look fine, just not as big as the other plant. Anyway, here's some pics!
