Dry It out In A Car Trunk>?
The question in this thread here i am asking is whether i can dry bud out in the trunk of a car. I have heard that it can either causes mold or its ok for drying bud. I personally think if the back seats are somewhat open circulating air in the whole car might be enough room to dry it out. Maybe Even to open the window or trunk every so often to refresh the air.
My second idea is to wrap my bud in the same mesh netting you have on your screendoor, then hand it upsidedown from a treebranch and place a tarp overtop of it, and let it stay there for 2 weeks. I need some professional input from you more experienced growers who might know if either of these would work or if they can offer any suggestions on what to do. Any responses are greatly appreciated thank you.

Hi m8
You can dry it anywhere you like You would need good conditions tho... Where i live drying outside this time of year would not work to well for me(The natural wet weather would mean it would take ages to dry(if it at all)) I like the idea of drying in the tree(WOuld rather that than in a car boot)) as say would not work for my climate.... Sorry i have no real advice for you m8 Just be aware of air flow/humidity good luck |

I don't think you need to worry about air flow for a smaller amount if you dry it in a wood shed/barn/attic where there is a lot of bone dry structural wood framing, walls, joists, rafters and stuff like that keeps the area low humidity.
I would look for a place like this to let it dry instead of a car or tree. It's also better that the spot be as dark as possible and cool 65-40 deg F. Otherwise just surround your buds with some dry boards by leaning and stacking, or even a cardboard box upside down, with an air gap underneath and hang buds from the top inside. Its gonna smell wherever you put it, so that is another issue of course if others will mind. Last edited by TheGreatEscape; 09-30-2006 at 08:23 PM.. |

Yes you CAN dry in a car. Ive personally done it before. Get some "damp rid" calcium chloride granules and keep little dishes of it throughout the car and replace them as they get wet from moisture in the air.

Personally, I let the buds do the talkin. It trips me out to see how many people need to smoke theyre harvest so fast. Dont you want your efforts to be as excellent as possible?
If you have to, maybe do it in newspaper bags with those silica packets. I can ony guess that would be the best way to do it. I would still hope that people could allow some time though. Anyone who smokes herb is down for good herb. Cures a big part. Keep it easy ~caddy |

Just cut 3 tops each about 1.5 feet long from a 7 foot Sativa Indica cross. I could've waited another week but wanted 2 different highs from the plant. This was some of the smelliest shit I've ever encountered. Just from walking indoors for 5 mins permeated the entire house with a sweet bubblegum\cannabis smell. Trimmed them, dried, well tried to in a wooden box in a closet in a bedroom and my roommate complained so much about the smell at the other end of the house i was forced to put it in a storage shed outdoors.
I'd never put this herb in my car so we'll see how the shed thing goes. |

ive heard in the south its common to use cars as food dehydrators, so i can see the car dry workings quite well if done right. and no, im not bashing on southerners, im commenting on the ingenuity
