Safari Mix Question for Mike!
Hey Mike and other Mandala growers.
I have 5 Safari babes that are at 71 days today, and two of them are coming down tonight. The other 3 look like they have a ways to go yet, maybe a week to ten days. That would put them well over your suggested bloom time of 62-74 days. The trichs on these three ladies are mostly cloudy with no amber in sight. I have seen Mike post more than once that it is best to pull the plants within the suggested bloom times, so should I pull them around 74 days, or let them go an extra week? |

some strains amber differently than others. if they are cloudy like milky white they might stay like that for a LONG time and already be ready.

You don't know when you're going to go. So don't take this shit serious now. You better have some fun and plenty of it. Because when the shit is over and you ask for a refund its too late. All I can tell you is to keep some sunshine on your face. -Mudbone |

In the Safari Mix there can be some plants with a strong sativa influence. This is the one product where the indicated harvest time could be stretched by these long-flowering females. But only if they are truly still producing buds. If the trichs are cloudy then that's good enough for harvest. Some plants hardly amber at all or take ages, so it doesn't pay to pull up a chair and watch for the sun to set in those trichs...lol. Happy harvest! Mike

Thanks for the reply Mike. The 3 ladies in question are at day 74 today. Two of them are finally looking like they are done. The hairs on these 2 girls are finally changing colors and the trichs are mostly cloudy. The other lady isn't looking done at all, but this is the most Sativa dominant of the bunch. The hairs on this lady are still all white and the trichs are mostly clear.
I have 5 more Safari girls in bloom that will come down in the next month or so for a total of 10 Safari girls. The last 2 I topped and vegged 6 weeks and these two have a massive amount of bud sites after 4 weeks with a ton of resin already. One of these shot up like crazy and almost trippled in size, while the other one didn't stretch hardly at all. That's what you get with a mix I guess. This is the first time I have tried any type of training/topping with any of your strains. They look a little longer to recover after the stress of topping, but the longer veg time made up for that. As soon as I pull the 2 Safari girls tonight, I have 5 Speed Queens ready to go into bloom. These were vegged for 4 wks and will flower in 2 gal pots. They are about 8-10 inches tall. Can you give me an idea of how much these will stretch in bloom? I flower with a 400w MH Agrosun Gold, so my plants usually stretch less than normal. Thanks! |
