Can you find out what sex plants are while they are vegging. and if so how do you do it

From what I understand, you can't tell until you start to flower unless you cut some clones and flower them out. Then you'll know the sex of the parent plant before you actually flower IT out. I'm still pretty new to growing and I could be wrong, but that's what I understand from what I've read.

most will show in veg if youleave them in there long enough. Use a magnifying glass, males look like balloons on a stick & female look like flowers with white hair. og faq has some good pics.

I am no expert but I can usually get a pretty good idea the sex in veg. sometimes they fool me though flowering is the for sure way to tell.

males are also built a little different, not as bushy.

I'm sexing some now.

My wife can determine sex two weeks before I can. We have running arguments, and then she always turns out to be right. She has saved my ass more than once!

She makes one of two declarative announcements: "Balls!" or "Hairs!"

i have 8 nl babies at about 23 days veg and 5 of em have shown sex (im pretty sure)...3 of the plants have white hairs growing out of the preflowers, visible to the naked eye. one of em looks like its probably female, and the other is male...

Yes you can. Sex will be determined some time after 4 weeks of veg at the 4th or 5th node. The pics above explain what to look for pretty good..

If you have a 30x Jewlers loup really helps in seeing the pistles or the balls.

Nice pics.

I've noticed that the main stem (I train with LST) usually shows preflowers first, generally at 5 to 8 weeks of veg, depending on the strain. So look to the main leader first.
