C99 F5's
Hi, i have been very interested in growing c99 for awhile...i've heard very positive things about it. I have a few questions about the wallyduck c99 f5's:
Are they very close to the original c99? How stable are they, since they are f5's i'm assuming they are ibl's? How good is it compared to the other c99's on the market (gn03, female seeds, etc.)? How much do they stretch? I know they are almost pure sativa, but i've seen some c99's that look very short and squat. I have a max height of about 3.5 feet of plant growth space, i would prefer 3 feet if possible. would lst be the way to go using a 1000w? Do they need to be tied up? Can they support their bud weight? I'm just asking, because some sativa are very lanky and need to be tied up because they grow wildly. And last question, is there anything i need to know before growing it? Like are they nute sensitive, etc. Thanks, Seth. |

i think they need to be inbred a few more generations to be a true ibl. maybe f8's?

i think most strains will be ibl's by f5 or so. For example, dj shorts strains are f5 ibl's.

hmmm, im not a dj fan i guess. wouldn't it be marketed as an ibl if it was? i have personally grown f6 seeds that had some distinctly different phenos. as for wallyduck's c99, im pretty sure it comes from the original bros. grimm genetics or at least thats what ive been told.

ibl's aren't going to have the exact same phenos..no matter what filal generation they are they are going to have some variation. I didn't think dj shorts seeds were ibl's either, but from what i've read in the dj shorts section they are infact ibl's.

>>>> Are they very close to the original c99? well in many ways they are , i loved many things about the original , though i really favoured the pineapple tasting one , and the aim was to have all plants produce that flavour , the resin content etc are all much the same as previous , though i preferred to breed the seeds in an outdoor tropical situation .. this may or may not have improved some aspects , i am biased of course , u will have to judge for yourself ... other aspects like growth room etc , can be controlled by yourself , the strain will easily double its size with the onset of flower , u will need to keep that in mind ,, u can train them quite easily though ... u may well need to prop up the buds as they put on weight , although i dont need to in outdoor grows very much ,, indoor is often different ... please check availability on the strain , i am unsure how much is left .. |

Thanks for the info, so it will grow fine indoors right? The first pic you posted is the type of pheno i'm looking for, fairly short and squat. How did you breed this strain? Whos original c99 did you use, and did you add any other strains or is it pure c99? How is the yield (example: below average, average, above average, etc.)

from what i know there is only one c99 made by brothers grimm , that s where mine came from aswell .... i inbred it over several generations in order to attempt to isolate a pineapple plant , i think the breeding program was successful , i love pineapple flavoured gunja ,, oh the hash is also pineapple flavoured ,, yum ,, |

mmm to keep to 3 ft ,, i am not 100% how u would do that exactly ,,, perhaps begining flowering at 1 foot tall might be a good guide ,, u can always bend and train your plants if they become unruley ....
