Storing under Nitrogen
Oxygen reactive chemicals are often stored in containers filled with Nitrogen. This is done by putting the noozle of the Nitrogen tank into the container and letting nitrogen flow freely for a few seconds and then closing the lid off. I wonder if anyone has tried this with their buds, if not maybe it may be worth trying because they can sure last for a long time if there is minimal Oxygen that the THC can react with. One other method may be filling the container with liquid nitrogen, then the low temperature would kill off pathogens as well.

Consider relative humidity, it's best to minimize O2 by storing in a sealed container, but flushing with N2 will drop the humidity like a rock, you'll want to leave some humidity. Honestly just storing your pot in a sealed container and keeping it in a dark place will make your pot last a couple of years.
