Just my hypothesis: Shanti's G13 comes directly from Nevil stock, so it would be pretty pure. Same thing for the G13 Dronkers used for their cross with hashplant at Sensi. In facts Nevil gave many of his genetics to Sensi. So I think G13 x Widow is just G13 x Widow and not G13/Hashplant x Widow.
Nice Humboldts, mark

Its G13skunk x widow.
The original G13 clone died years ago and the G13skunk x was made back then....peace

To tell you the truth, I bet they have a partnership. I don't know neville, but he seems like the type of guy that would want to get his genetics out there regardless of the $$$.
REGARDING the g-13 question. In my old catalogs of the seed bank and the s.s.s.c. from 1986 and 1989 the g-13 was listed as a hashplant/g13 cross. And I believe that the pure g13 IS STILL around. I'm originally from michigan and had many friends who only grew "G." cause it was so awesome. I even know a government/military friend from the late seventies and early eighties that claims to have gone in the u of m research lab and stolen the actual clone! So I'm wondering if shanti used the g-13 cutting to mate with widow or the g-13 hashplant crossed with widow. IT seems that the w.w. would be a nicer choice to sweeten out and resin up the g-13 verses the hash plant. I have a lot of hash plant seeds from sensi that I wasn't to impressed with. I'd much rather have one of the pure ortegas from the eighties in cali. But overall, we all need to thank heaven for sending neville around at just the right time to save so many landrace seeds. Without him, most of the modern seedbanks wouldn't be in business! |

Ok- thanks man, didn't know that answer was definitive
Thought it was somebody guessing! I've seen so many west coast people say they have the "g" but its nothing like the original "G" clones we grew in Michigan in the eighties. I'm sure its still around in Kalamazoo Mi where I went to school and where the gov. six million dollar man paratrooper I knew first gave it to me. EVERYONE was growing that in K-town- thanks to my friend. THanks much for the answer- I really appreciate it. BTW- Any other mr. nice strains you'd reccommend for mold resistant cultivars. I just got the afg/sk#1 seeds off the bay- but I'm looking for any other tips for mold res. for my Humboldt County Med. Seed Co. cheers, mark |

Sooner or later Shanti will come back here to clarify our doubts, adding his own and Nevil's experiences to ours .
Mark, mine is probably a very stupid answer to your problem but hazy sativa strains like La Nina wouldn't have mold problems. Gotta add that I've grown just a pair of Black Widows some time ago that were just 60% sativas but cleary dom. and I had no problems with molds. BTW if you ask to the Capt., he surely got more experience than me with Shanti's strains. Hope this help

Thanks for the tip Syd. I'll give the black widows a go. I have found paradises Rox to be resistant. Also my west coast grapefruit pheno is p.mold resistent. and its an indica. I think its a genetic thing more than a dense bud verses a loose bud issue as I've seen super dense indicas be resistent. Its an interesting field.
