White Magic indoors

Hi

As the title says, I'm attempting to grow a single White Magic plant indoors. Might be a tall order, but maybe with some advice from you guys and a bit of luck I might pull it off.

Gear:
-1m x 1m x 2m tent (3f x 3f x 6f)
-600w metal halide (Emits also red light so it will be used throughout the grow. It should also produce a lot of UV, but the cooltube probably blocks it)
-30 litre fabric pot (Approx. 6,5 gallon)
-Soil is Atami Janeco lightmix
-Cooltube with a fan that extracts from outside the tent and pushes the air outside
-Airflow from the tent is done with a separate fan that is throttled down to approx. 120m³/h so it changes the air every minute, which should be optimal as far as I know.
-A small desk fan in the tent to circulate air within
-Humidifier to increase humidity to 50-60%
-Nutrients areCanna BioVega and GENERAL HYDROPONICS FloraNova Bloom
-Water that I'll use is springwater that naturally has the right ph

So the plan at this point is to give the plant four weeks of veg time. Topping once after fifth node and pruning the bottom two branches. After the plant has been topped, a SCROG-net is placed above it and soon swithed to bloom. As the plant streches it will be trained to cover the net.

I think that's all. Wish me luck!

First day

So I planted the seed straight into the big pot about a week ago. Usually it goes smoothly with Mandala seeds, they come up in about five days and they are healthy. This time I think I messed up a little and planted it too deep. At day six, which was yesterday I got nervous and started digging in to the soil with a toothpick. After about half a centimeter she came to view.

I put her under the light and closed the tent. Today I checked up on her and got a little worried. She had not raised herself up and was still bent with her leaves in the soil. The soil was quite dry on the surface and her stem was this deep purple color.

I gave her some water, raised the light to about 70cm (27 inch) and gave her an inspiring peptalk. In the evening she had come up and was looking fine. I gave her some more water just in case and lowered the light to 50cm (19 inch).

Some might say that I'm overwatering her and usually I wait until the soil is completely dry from the surface and and the plant starts to droop a bit. But with these seedlings in a big pot under a powerful light, I've learned to keep giving them a little bit of water every day so that the surface doesn't dry up because they don't have deep roots yet.

I forgot to mention that the light cycles are 18/6 for veg and 11/13 for bloom. At the end of flower I might even switch it to 10/14.

Day 8

She's now 8 days old and looking healthy. Maybe growing a bit slowly, but she's growing nevertheless.

On day 2 I noticed that she had stretched a bit so I lowered the light to 40cm (16 inch) and that stopped the stretching.

Yesterday I started the regular watering schedule and gave her 4 liters (approx. 1 gallon) of plain water. Now I'll let the soil dry up until I water again.

Gandalb will become famous soon enough
I own a bag of 6 seeds. I'll try them first outdoors and later in winter I'll try them indoor with 600W hps and 25L pots.
Indoor I would try them from seed at 12/12. I'm sure that they will grow to 1,80m.
Good luck!!!

Day14

Today I decided to give the plant a break from being under the hot light all day.

I unplugged the metal halide and turned on an e27-bulb that is hanging from the ceiling.

I turned off all the fans and turned the humidifier to full blast.
The humdity rose from 40% to almost 90%.

I also gave the plant a little bit of strength training!

Although I have a fan inside the tent it's never pointed straight at the plant. It's so far away that the plant might flutter just a bit. As I let the humidifier do its thing I took the desk fan and fanned her from many directions. This simulates a strong gust of wind and it does the plant a lot of good. It stimulates it to grow stronger.

After the air was humid as shit I lowered the light to 35cm from the plant and closed the tent up.

I changed the the setup a little bit.
I took the little desk fan out of the tent and I throttled down the two others. Now they run much quieter and exhange air slower. I'm trying to really build up the humidity in the tent and I dont want to blow it out of there with overpowered ventilation.

Also took some pictures of my electric setup

Day15

This is what she looked like in the morning right after I put the lights on.

I didn't start the metal halide at all in the morning. I just have a small led bulb in the ceiling of the tent and that was all the light she got for the first few hours. I had both the fans turned off and only ran the humidifier in the tent so that it would get as humid as possible.

After a couple hours I turned the metal halide and ventilation on.

I had raised the light back to 40cm so that she wouldn't get light-burned.

Overall she's looking fine. Perky, not too stretched and good color.

More pics of the setup

The bag in the ceiling is supposed to add some co2. I forgot to mention that.
