Keeping males long-term
I have some seeds i made and started indoor for this outdoor season, maybe 3-4 weeks old under a t5 for 24hrs. Tiny foam cups...they need transplanted.
Strains: Blue Lime Pie f2 Guava Stardawg x heavenly hashplant male Cougar milk x heavenly hashplant male One of the guava males has showed up already and is flowering, spitting pollen. Everything else hasnt showed sex. Id like to keep this male around for a bit due to his quickness and shoot for some quicker flowering varieties in the future. Ive never tried holding a male past flower. Normally, i just collect the pollen and get rid of it. Any techniques out there to keep a male longterm in the mom room? Or just let it dump pollen and carry on with 24hr lighting? Thanks |

Are you looking for early flowering characteristics? Possibly auto flowering?
Without much more info, This seems a good male for exploring that route. Keep males as any other mom type plant. |

Like MJ said you can keep males in veg just like any of your mom plants. One thing to keep in mind is a lot of males will continue to produce pollen sacs even under 24 hours of light. I will prune my males really hard and keep an eye out for any sacs. Other than that no issues.
