I understand area coverage blah... but I have allocated a certain amount for light. I am buying seeds too.
Light to be used to start seeds and get seedlings ready for outdoors. Then clones taken from outdoor parents put back under led to flower. Grow box is work in progress and can be any size. |

Use a cheap shop light for seedlings and a good light for flower.
40% less energy use than a 400w HPS would be what? 240w maybe? For $489.00, your paying over $2 a watt. A 240w Quantum board from Timber cost me $346.42 shipped. It has a dimmer. No "spectrum control." Spectrum control on many lights consists of turning specific LEDs off or on. If they're turned off, you won't even get the full 240 watts.Sounds like it needs a separate controller anyway. It looks like it uses a fan rather than a heat sink. The fan will take a little power and add heat that will stay in the box.

Thanks, think I will order the clw 550 bloom.
I have a cfl florescence and window sill for the little ones. With your good info I should have 550 flowering watts leds Instead of sharing a percent of lights to another color. Right? |

They're claiming 400 watts actual draw. $799
Shipping? https://timbergrowlights.com/240-watt...row-light-kit/ 240w @ $349.00 x 2 =480w $698 $22 Shipping. Code RIU was working for $25 off. Double heatsinks attached. or https://horticulturelightinggroup.co...60w-qb-led-kit 260w @325.00 x2 = 520w $650 Easy installation. Single heatsink. I have the Timbers with double heat sink. Two smaller panels compared to 1 larger panel that HLG has, otherwise they're both the same HLG lights. I think the Timbers have a little more voltage drop due to a little longer wiring..Not sure why the difference in wattage otherwise. HLG sells them in 2700k which may be better for flower than the 3,000k. I don't know. Is there a reason you're leaning towards California Light Works? They look like a decent light. I personally felt Timber was my best option and didn't look much further at the others.
