anyone build there own LED?
so the price of led lights where i live is astronomical for the reputable brands, so i figure why not try and build my own
does anyone have some experience with this and can tell me how ell this might work or anything i might be over looking? my only concern so far is the lights will be red heavy (good for flowering) and how much heat they will put off (commerical led fixtures have fans built in, these obviously do not) thx ahead of time for any input heres the parts i plan on using (socket) https://www.amazon.ca/JACKYLED-Exten...rds=e26+socket (splitter) https://www.amazon.ca/8T8-Splitter-S...G1B3M04HA&th=1 (bulb) https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07...LM58L1E7&psc=1 |

another idea i might do is - say fuck the splitter, buy multiple sockets and some kind of thin board, drill holes in the board where i want each bulb and have a socket for each bulb and litterally make a fixture, then i could add little usb computer fans for cooling

There are all kinds of options nowadays, from dollar store screw-ins, to DIY parts and kits, to retail lights....and it seems like most people are doing pretty decent, whichever they choose.
Most of the info you're probably looking for will be up at the top of this forum, in the sub-forum "LED Grow Lights". Lots of good threads there you should be able to get some ideas from. Good luck, and let us know if you have any other questions... |

The simplest way is to use decent screw in led bulbs without the actual plastic bulbs. Checkout the micro section.
Good luck

Check out LEDGardener.com
I've been giving myself a crash-course in LEDs, and it's not that hard to DIY something simple. It just depends upon your needs and budget. The money I save in electricity alone for 3-4 runs will more than pay for my initial investment in gear. GL. |
