Ultimate Cannabis Etymology Thread
Cannabis is a far-reaching plant which brings many different people together. I've always been interested in amateur linguistics and where the words people use daily originate.
This is a thread to discuss the history of local terms people around you use as synonyms for cannabis. For example, 'ganja' is a term commonly heard in the Caribbean and was introduced by way of Indian laborers. Now for an open question, 'doja' is a word I hear used by some in the US, but where did this word come from? I found it sounds eerily similar to 'dagga' from S. Africa. |

I use cannabis.
I also call it cannabis. And also frequently call it pot. Potacion de guaya means drink of grief. |
