Over Time I became a huge fan of vertical growing.
Efficiency is king :-D

Atm I´m planning to build two side by side rooms.
Normally I would stack 3-4 600w on top of another, but after reading about the increased efficiency of the 1kw de bulbs, I would prefer stacking 2 1000s on top.
But I read many times they are note suited for vertical mounting.
Is this true, do 1000w DEs only work horizontal?
ICmag search and google hasnt helped a lot.

Hope some of you´ve done some real world tests with the 400V Bulbs.

I recently started a run with 630w CMH in vert fixture.. the 630w ballast died on day 13 (bloom) after 4 weeks veg and put a standard 1K HPS in its place but> the girls, at that point were further along (buddage) than any HPS/MH ive ever run. Today, at day 17 (bloom), after 4 days of 1K HPS, buds look like buds I'd get at day 30 or so running HPS/MH from initial bloom stage (12/12).

So impressed, going to buy the 94CMH bulb and ballast.. already have 2, 630w DE bulbs so may get another 630w CMH ballast for veg and then 945w DE for bloom..

I know you asked about 1K DE but this is all I have to report on and another option.. GL

Nanolux was supposed to be releasing a SE with a DE arc tube. i havent actually seen it for sale yet...
