Clones and nutrition burn
Hi every one.
Info on my plant and conditions Light = 4 x CFLs cool white total 400w Growing Medium = normal soil with fertilizer Small blower Container with a mix of water, yeast and sugar. Space =small. I have an plant witch is 23 days old. I was going to use this plant as an mother plant. but did a several beginner mistakes. I started to put a little bit nutrients with the watering way to soon (Fraction of what was recommended on the bottle) And after that i found out the soil was with fertilizer (Plain stupid mistakes) But when i realized what i had done i flushed the plant with like 10 liters of water (My pot has good drainage holes) flushed it until the water started to be clear (With ph leveld water 6.5.) If you check the pic. Is this root burn or could it possible be potassium deficiency? Also, my original plan was to use it for clones, will this fuck up,!!! effect all clone growth in the future from this plant? HAve a nice day. ;-) |

You know what you've done. Pray and wait to let them grow out of it. Everything else would do more damage at this point. Never again use ferts on seedlings. Your soil looks like minor quality too. I bet you're overwatering too. Wait till the pots are light before next watering. This could take a week or more under certain circumstances. I'm unsure what this container with water, yeast and sugar is about... Don't use it on the plants!

Can you tell us if your soil has dried down between water events? Your soil looks like the type that retains alot of moisture. I do not see alot of perlite or rocks or anything to add drainage to the soil. Let us know...
If your soil has stayed wet this entire time then your seedling would suffer. That is a large container for a seedling which is not a bad thing but you have to be careful not to drench the entire containers worth of soil because your seedling will not be able to help dry down that much soil. If your soil IS dry.. Truly really light weight dry... You should slowly water until runoff and try to capture some of the run off in a cup. Use a TDS meter that measures salts (EC or PPM) to measure the water going into the soil and then the water coming out of the bottom of the container. Also measure the PH for us. This will tell us a little more info. |

Measurement on request (Day 29)
Hi. Today i thought the pot was light (enough) and dry to water to get the measurement. I water it with about 1.8 liters of pure water 6.5 ph which was room temperature 21 celsius. It is a 5 liter pot.
PH. = 7.2 EC = 1.7 CF = 17 PPM 700 = 1230 PPM 500 = 880 Last week i set the thermometer in to the pot and he was showing 35 degree celsius when i opened the closet to day. Is this all possible slight burn from 4 cfls Ps. Water, yeast, sugar mix = Co2 (Not for watering) |

Hey Ice,
That is WAY to hot for little ones. I keep my seedlings between 200-300 PPMs. In full veg I'm usually less than 1000 PPMs on larger plants, and rarely would I ever exceed 1200-1500 PPMs in full flower. The burns you're seeing is from extreme overfeeding, not from the CFLs. Also, if you're actually hitting 35c you need to find a way to drop that temperature way down. Ideally you're wanting 20-28c. Is transplanting into less hot soil an option for you? When I grow in soil, I usually don't need to start feeding for 2-4 weeks (depending on mix). I've used Fox Farm Ocean Forest/Happy Frog without a single bit of nutrients for 3-4 weeks with most strains. Promix is another option that doesn't contain a lot of nutrients. If you can access Promix, I've found 40% Promix 40% Perlite 20% EWC to be an effective mix.

Hey IceGrower! I agree with what was previously posted here.
It is way to hot for your Seedling, also u overfed and overwatered them heavily. Just let em grow out..do not flush the medium with 10 Liters of water at this stage of the plant, even if you have overfertilized as it will drown the roots to death. Also i cannot see any Perlite in that soil, maybe the soil is too muddy and it holds water for too long so the roots are drowned and cannot breath. This will make the problem worse rather than make it better. Just let it grow out, give them only plain water or start with a new seed and soil, the plant is still so small now that you would not loose much time when you start over ![]() Greetz |

Tonight
Tonight i took the chance and transplanted to coco mix with perlite.
I sprayed it with ph 6.5 water and now i pray for it to live. I also took one light bulb from the light to lower the heat. (Until I find another resource to lower the heat.) The light is now 6.5 inch from the plant. (Going to take to 8 inch tomorrow and see if i can reinstall the fourth bulb. ) |
