MY COFFEE GROUND EXPIERMENT!!!

Ok here it is...
So I have been reading a bunch about all aspects of veg.(Problem is who do I listen to?) One thing that interests me is Spent coffee grounds for fertilizer. I do see some not so good things and more good things. So here's the deal I want to see for myself if spent coffee grounds during Veg helps or not.

So I have a 18 day old unknown bag seed from popping out of soil that has had some stress. I topped it and planted it in the matter of hrs. (I'm new so I'm gonna make mistakes)
I'm gonna use this baby for the expierment.

So I took about 3/4th cup of coffee grounds from my cabinet and brewed the coffee 2x's and then placed the spent coffee grounds in a unused coffee filter and made a tea bag sort off thing and let the grounds seep in the nutural pH h2o tested the pH.(because unspent coffee grounds are a little acidic. I wanted to make sure what I read "run-off of spent coffee grounds should be nutural ). The pH was a little high 6.7 so I added 3 drops of organic apple cider vinegar in and it brought it to 6.49 (figured that was close enough to 6.5).
Now after my light turns on at 5:30pm I'll add a bit to the top of my pot and kind of mix it up gently as to not disturb roots.

Every day I'll take pictures and notes and share them so we all can see this experience.

I have added the soil as I said before. Here is a picture of her after I put the coffee grounds in.

I use all my used coffee grinds in my worm bin. They definitely have a benefit, but as part as a complete organic soil, they would be more effective as the microbes will help break it down. I measured the PH of used coffee grinds. its 5.9. They are proven to not acidify the soil very much as they are already used. You should have a few control plants, and make sure all variables are the same. and ofcourse take pictures every week good lucjk!

I use them as a top dressing in my veggie garden along with everything else that comes out of my kitchen for the last 8 years. I've even gotten bags of grinds from starbucks. I use it as a soil amendment, but not as a stand alone fert.

Cool. Nice to see how this goes along.

I have mixed coffee grounds into soil years ago, just for giggles, didn't do any side-by-sides. Can't be bothered these days. Lazy bones.

Hate to be a bummer..
.. but cheaper coffee can have shit load of (heavy) metals in it, so if some of you guys are very picky about what you want to put in your soil, you might wanna start brewing the good stuff.
This made the news quite widely here some years ago, cause people drink alot of coffee here.
Easy to find articles/studies about this by google.

Peace.

I have a compost bin with exclusively coffee grounds, eggshells and banana peels. It's for OG and Bubba. Works well
