No, breeders only rub stems to see which ones smells stronger and/or nicer.

For example:

You may have 10 plants and when you rub them all 1 stands head and shoulders above the rest in terms of aroma.

I would say that's a keeper for at least aroma production.

There's a lot of variables involved with breeding. No single plant has everything.

Just find the best plants and keep going with them.

Males are known to be difficult to reveg, so take cuts
if you need to hold the male plant for future use.

Many folks flower males and collect pollen for storage
to use at a later date, a decent option to maximize
your veg space.

Males for the win, lol

You can reveg nearly everything if you know how. I had plants that wanted to flower with 24h light and I menage to revert the process by doing the fallowing things: cut all the tips of all branches including the main stem and leave only branches with leaves; transplant to a larger pot and feed the plant with root stimulator.
The transplant will force it to revert to rooting and since it only has leaves left on it, will not be able to flower but grow first. Hope it helps you

If you are storing you collected male pollen its also possible to add flour to the collected pollen to stretch it out as pure pollen is highly concentrated. I believe robert clarke recommends up to 1 part pollen to 4 parts flour
