Ok boss I get you. Yeah knowing my luck the block Coco will go bad on me too haha.
I've thought about using it, but does it need loads of prep? And precharging/ rinsing etc?

I wonder what happen to their bags then..?
Definitely worth considering. They do the natural version which night be better. Maybe when they are precharging it, they are messing it up some how.

no rinsing needed . i just precharge it with my base & 2ml of calmag at 400tds & a PH of 5.8
each little square block needs about a gallon of mix to hydrate them .... 4 bricks per pack , 4 gallons to hydrate them in a 18 gallon tote . mix it all up by hand after it sits for a half hour or so ... get all the chunks broken up & mixed up good & its ready to go .
just as good or better than the bags imho

2 maybe 3 times during the lights on .... depends on how fast the pot dries out . this time of year they stay wet longer so 2 feeds is usually good enough . all i really do is make sure the pot doesn't dry out at anytime during the 24 hr period .

Ok I get you. I always think the dryness thing is so subjective. My idea of dry is generally when you can see the coco starting to lighten up very slightly on the surface but remains moist, but the pot is lighter. Other peoples idea of dry might be different. I read djm's coco trees a hundred times. I'd love to be able to multi feed many times but with these issues I can't really figure out what is going on in a vmbasic level so feel like my wings are clipped until I sort out this issue. I saw one of your threads and the coco looked pretty dry or perhaps it was the lighting. But the buds looked great.
I had my best results watering similar to soil. But mostly now it seems that multifeeds are the thing you should do.

I used to have 11 litre pots, wait till the coco started to lighten and feed 1 litre of nutes. Then wouldn't even water till they were at the same point. This was every day or every other day sometimes. But these were the best yields I think. Keeping them moist seems to be great in veg and root health is way better. But obviously not happy at all with flower atm

Just wanted to mention Chloride toxicity. It makes plants super dark green. I have a hard time believing it's N toxicity at your ppm's. I suppose the coco could hold onto it if you overfeed N throughout veg? But unlikely. Plants use way less chloride in flower so maybe why the toxicity manifests.

How do you measure pH? How often do you calibrate?
Man I didn't see your post .. Thanks for chiming in.
Yes I agree how can I have N toxicity at these ppms?
I measure pH with a blue lab pen. Its always correct. Its was calibrated about three days ago so probably ever week or two.
Very smart suggestion though. I have never looked up chloride toxicity but will do that now..

Canna Coco
Canna Buffer Agent
Canna Coco A & B Nutes
Half the suggested schedule sees me fine even with tap water.
I also use 18l pots so maybe that helps spread the nutes over a wider area and seems not to causes toxic nute build up.
Best wishes and happy growing.
