Anyone who thinks that they should have a nice comfortable life working at the Golden Arches needs more education. Low end jobs are for teenagers not 25+ year old's who more than likely get supplemental "help" from the taxpayer.

Anyone working 40 hours a week should get paid a living wage. Agreed, your not going to get "comfortable wage" working at McD's, but if your working full time, it should at least cover your basic expenses and keep you from being homeless.

Red Robin just announced that because of rising minimum wages...they are eliminating bus boys at every restaurant. Jack in the Box is moving to rid themselves of cashiers...Wendy's already started.

Government cannot artificially inflate the cost of running a business and expect said businesses to just comply...they will use cheaper, more efficient technology...that doesn't call in sick or fuck up someones order. Or get by with less employees....or raise prices to cover the extra expense.

Now...lets look at how the government can do some good. The recent tax law just passed lets companies keep more of THEIR money. Guess what happens...well so far, directly related to the new law, companies gave over 2 million workers a bonus. Some 1k and some 2k.

Walmart just announced that because of the new tax law...they are raising their minimum wage from $9 to $11, bonuses for all employees up to 1k and 10 weeks for maternity leave. That's $300million in wages and benefits and $400million in bonuses.

When the free market thrives so does the country. When government over regulates and places burdens on business , profits suffer and that dominoes to the workers and the consumer...everyone pays.

A minimum wage may seem like bullshit to some, but to the average working person it represents a rung on a wage scale in a labor force they will be a part of all their lives.

It has meaning, and all labor is worthy of respect.
