Trellis with bamboo
Trellis people!
Needing some guidance, please. I read up on PVC and I'd prefer not to have it in my Indoor garden. I want to use bamboo, more healthy and may cost less...even if it doesn't cost less, I want to use bamboo. So, this is the basic design, see pics here: https://www.quartoknows.com/blog/qua...techniques.png https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/09...91465383081951 I envision a trellis that's about 4' tall and the bamboo stakes into my 15 gallon soil. Probably going to grow large indica plants like Critical Kush. Has anyone created a bamboo trellis like this? Will this be strong enough, here are the items I'm considering. From weakest (at the top) to strongest, I assume the strength based on reviews. Growers Edge, see relevant Amazon review just below https://growershouse.com/grower-s-ed...-bulk-100-pack https://www.amazon.com/Growers-Edge-...dp/B00S27TQ12/ Hydrofarm https://www.amazon.com/Hydrofarm-HGB.../dp/B0051GUQO8 Smart Support Heavy Duty 8', I would just cut it in two pieces https://www.horizenhydroponics.com/s...o-stake-8.html Do bamboo stakes attract spider mites? Amazon reviewer said this: not ideal for gardening per say but they are bamboo ... buy some metal ones, they won't cause your stakes to mold or host an infestation of mites...just sayin. see less By Brody Garich on August 8, 2015 |

They don't attract mites (at least that I've ever seen/heard/read) but the nooks and crannies make good hide outs from spraying. You can soak at the end of cycle but not so much in your case.
Pick your battles. |

Most of those links didn't work. You're looking for the 1/2"-3/4" thick stakes.

For what its worth Bamboo is a grass meaning it will deteriorate over a cycle in your medium.
I grew multi varieties in the past down South. It's not good for dogs either, so keep it locked up if you have dogs. Good luck.
