I opened up the cabinet to water and was greeted with a lovely smell. Maybe it's psychosomatic, but it smells like grape bubble gum. Not sure which one smells because I was removing dead dried leaves from under the canopy.

The male was starting to show flowers so I moved him to the doghouse (under my bathroom sink) with a small CFL on a timer. I'll collect pollen to save for later.

Reiko, you're not the only person to notice a grape smell in some females. One of my original Durbans had the strong Star Anise smell w/ a touch of grape. Im glad to know the grape smell is still around.

Maybe the terp profile will change later on and you'll get to enjoy the anise smell too. Two of the ShitxDP have developed a strong sweet-anise candy smell as they've entered late flowering. Gives me hope for the male I used that we'll see more Anise terp profiles popping up in these DP F2's, as well as other DP hybrids Im working through.

Let's hope for the perfect plant: purple, anise smell, and THCV.

The Durban Poison are about 45 days now, almost half way there. They are getting a tad bit yellow, but they got a neem/kelp tea last night. If that doesn't straighten them out, I'll top dress with some castings.

A bit of mulch open for those of you who like that sort of thing.

A few shots of the Durban Poison girls. They are at 56 days now, starting to fade and frost up. I put a top dressing of cannabis leaves and chopped clovers from a recent harvest.

Those buds are looking mighty nice Reiko. I hope you can give em a few more weeks before the harvest. Any thoughts on what they smell like at this point?

I hope to take them to at least 70 days. I'm surprised how fat the leaves are and how fast they are ripening. Is it the LEDs, the malted barley, or do these have some Skunk bred in there? Most definitely don't look 100% sativa to me. I'll have to bust out the microscope soon.

Smell at this point is dank and sweet with hints of anise and grape. They smell pretty much the same, with the smaller purple buds being more pungent.

I dont believe there is Skunk in it, but there has been speculation its got PCK in it. I didnt want to believe it as I got these seeds in late 2010, and I dont recall PCK being made available till afterwards. Yet Ive looked at lots of PCK plants and read the threads available about it, and I can see why there would be speculation..

Plenty of similarities between PCK and Afropips DP. Colorful buds & fat chubby leaves on some plants looks alot like PCK traits.

Hope to soon do a Phylos Test if I can and will share results afterwards. Itd be nice to know for sure.

Therealhash is also testing the DP, and I believe he has experience growing out PCK. Ill definitely be asking him for his thoughts on the two.

It would be interesting to see what's in these. Either way they smell good and are ripening up.
