Blood meal in the tea?
Hello all,
How much dried bloodmeal would I put in my teas? 1 tbsn/gall 2, 3....10 tbsn/gallon of bloodmeal? I know it is instantly available. I have ewc/guano (3-10-1)/molasses/kelp/ blood meal- this should be all I need to brew complete orgainc teas for veg and flower. I want to get away from bottled ferts all together. Thanks, minds_I

Hello all,
Well I tried the blood meal and it was not readily soluble. The package had directions to top dress and water in. I hope it is available quickly as I added it to my tea and fed rather then top dress. I wonder if bubbling will disolve the blood meal after time? minds_I

I'm sure the important ingredients are readily available with bubbling as blood meal can burn. The solids are fine to top dress with after the fact. 3LB said this in one of their famous threads.

I use one tablespoon per gallon, but you have to let it set for a few days.

Question: If you mix all that stuff in the tea (ewc/guano (3-10-1)/molasses/kelp/ blood meal), how do you know that the blood meal specifically hasn't dissolved in the water?
I'm very interested in this matter also, since I can't get my hands on guano and would love to dissolve some bone meal in a tea (for some P). |

Hello,
I just treid to mix blood meal with plain hot water-it did not immediately reconstitute. This presents issues as I wanted it to add to teas at the moment I need it. I did not want to bubble it in the tea beause I was trying for a tea designed more for flowering but if I need some N I could just add the bloodmeal. Oh well, minds_I

Bone meal won't dissolve in a tea. Bone meal gets broken done in the soil/soiless mix over time. Cheers, SH |

I know that... but once the nutrients get depleted in the soil, you have to feed them with a tea. And it looks like the only water soluble source of P is guano, which apparently doesn't exist in my country. So I'm fucked.

Formaldehyde just topdress with it, which incedently is highly underrated, when you topdress you feed your plants lightly everytime and watering gets it into the rootzone.
By being on the soil surface they get alot of oxygen and soil elements can break it down and make it availble so it easily watered into the rootzone next time. Let's all remember that even high release ferts rely on the microherd to some extent to break organics down to a usable form, the release rate dictates how easy and over how much time this happens. MI maybe if you had let the Bloodmeal bubble in a tea with microbes from EWC and molasses/kelp it would have been broken down a made more readily availble, just keep a good dose of molasses in there to keep those little fuckers happy and they'll keep feeding.
