Most ideal construction material for a dry room?

Hi there. I am building a better dry room and would like to use cedar tongue and groove planks over plywood. I see people use drywall bit thats not for me. Cedar has natural bug repellent and provides a dry environment. Will the cedar smell come out in the flower?

Yes, cannabis will absorb cedar scents. Cannabis seems to absorb everything and be quite a pain. Drywall is inert and has little to no smell. Slightly absorbent, unless you get greenboard for damp locations. I'd probably prefer stainless, if I could afford it.

Would suggest green-board like DC has mentioned. Some drywall is semi toxic when exposed to high humidity for long periods of time-off gassing.

Plastic causes mold and other problems. Stainless is expensive, yet doable.

Adequate air circulation will help with dry room and surmising this is home grow vs. industrial effort.

Thanks for your input. I also just thought about tile which might price out similar to the stainless steel. SS is way too much work to keep clean especially the cheap chinese shit. The plastic I was referring to was something similar to the polymax sheets in the farmtek catalog.

I hadn't thought of that as an option. Probably works well, idk. Im sure some super baller grower can do in their spare time a project testing the multiple drying rooms. I also think it depends on your local and regional climate. The poll is not official and more suggestions are welcome. Thanks for your feedback. And now some eye candy for your viewing pleasure! Full bowls and good times! Original Glue.

Just an after thought but if I was a baller grower living in the Emerald triangle instead of a $80,000 plus growdozer for my small penis, I would have a hempcrete dry room glazed in live resin all grown on my 7 acre farm.

I really dig the polymax material in the farmtek catalogue.
Come cleaning time just get out the pressure washer & go to town.

Ideally, with a well designed drying room you will be able manipulate the temperature, control air movement, set humidity levels, control light, have catchment trays or sheets for fallen resin and of course have practical accessibility and it should be a large enough space so that drying buds are not touching each other when hanging or placed on screens.

I don't think the actual wall and ceiling material matters that much so long as (mentioned above) it doesn't give off a smell, is clean and dry. For a small grow, you can use a large cardboard box for drying, for larger grows a spare bathroom is excellent.

Question : How do the acre growers dry their crops? Do you hang in the shade outdoors for up to a week then trim, place on trays and then further dry and cure indoors under controlled conditions?

Ribbed steel roofing panels. They meet all the requirements and they are able to be removed if you need to move in the future. This is what all of my rooms will be made of from here on out...
