To be able to walk into a store and buy a bag 'o' weed makes it all the more.
That’s what I’m banking on.

Ludicrous sales taxes would be one thing if the state could actually show it's going to good and relevant causes, but they can't even seem to do that.

I miss the pre-Trump days when politicians at least cared enough to lie to us in a somewhat convincing manner.

When Cannabis taxes go too high. Some people will revolt with illegal growing and smuggling will increase.

In Canada, when the prices of cigarettes goes too high. The amount of cigarettes coming from native
Indian reserves tends to skyrocket. I used to know one person who actually rented a truck to go buy
cigarettes hundreds of miles away at a reserve and made a killing selling hem for less than what you
can get them at stores.

Moonshining is what used to happen in the old days when people wanted to not pay taxes on booze as well.

That type of a tax regime almost guarantees that the program will fail.

A cynic (experienced person?&#128514 might even think this was done by design....so when it fails they can say "hey, we tried and legalization not viable".

A tax that high will ensure the black market gets even stronger....

That my two cents..

Cool

if their aim is to kill off the black market, they are doing exactly the wrong thing. weed will only be a money-maker to them when they drop taxes to where legal weed is cheaper AND better than street corner dope. sounds like they are TRYING to cause trouble to me...
