Best way to store trim long term?
Ok so I have a local grower who is going to be giving me a whoooooole lot of trim in a couple weeks. I only have two 4.2 ovens and a 5lb closed loop. What is the best way to store the trim? Should I dry it, vacuum seal and freeze or vacuum seal andfreeze before drying? Or should I avoid the freezer totally. I figure it will take me about 3-4 months to run through all of the material. All help is greatly appreciated!

Dry also has lower mono terpene content. Wet unfrozen will of course mold, so what I would most likely do is dry it a few days on screens to get rid of bulk of the water, then vacuum pack, or nitrogen purge and freeze it. Hard to say how long it takes for trim on screens, but for plants with the fan leaves stripped, it takes around 5 days or so to reach the stage that the small stems snap, but the material is still spongy and rife with terpenes. |

I know this may seem like a dumb question but it is possible to blast material and then store it to be purged later? I figure it might start to budder under certain conditions and the butane could get caught in the extract. I’m still pretty new at extracting and everything has been self taught via internet and trial and error lol. I just don’t want to screw up this awesome opportunity for a partnership because it is incredibly difficult to find excellent quality trim! |
