Hi Jammal,

Please, keep us updated with the progresses of your Purple Malawi x Caribe hybrid!
I'm sure many growers (me included) will be interested to learn about the dominant and recessive traits and blends in your hybrid.

Best wishes!

Quick update,

So I've been playing around with a 10/14 flower cycle both from seed and also after a little vedge time....didn't really work in the ways I expected and that's fine by me, it was a fun experiment..neat things happen.

But anyway , as it goes now, I'm going with a 12/12 from seed with the Caribe x Malawi..

Really like how this cross has turned out so far, pretty uniform with a few distinct characters,, of the 24 younglings, One elegant hazey looking pheno stands out...much more a Caribe looking pheno with a bit of an "edgy" look to her...the preflowers are aggressive and look wicked.

Right now not much for worthy pics, , but I will keep updating my adventures with this cross.

Here is a Mangobiche x peyote purple finishing up from the 10/14 from seed flower cycle,.. This did better than the caribe x Malawi with it and also with 24/0.....this is an excellent variety, I may revedge the stump of this one.

I think the purple Malawi x Caribe will do very well and naturally on 12/12 from seed ,

I also changed my tent around , more of a micro SOG thing , with intense lighting...spread out lights and added a few plug and play power strip mod jobs with screw in led to fill gaps....

But thought you'd all like to see a 10/14 bud nub on a 1 gallon bucket.

Some random thoughts and info(wake and bake)

So Obviously my tent setup has influenced my experimentation, but I feel now on 12/12 from seed the Caribe X Malawi will do what I'm looking for..

My 2 tents are 4x2x4 and 2x2x3, now running 12/12 Sativa's from seed SOG 1 gallon, but I got some 2 gallon I might try also....
The other one is running a micro Hempy SOG with autos under 24/0 light...pretty much 1 liter bottles cut up into hempys, 4 inch diameter...

So pretty much the standard 2 grow room light regime setup, but I'm using both for flowering SOG from seed....with a micro setup its looking like a very fun way to go about it...

The autos are a supersilver haze auto(BB) x OG kush auto(flash) pollen chucking I did which I got lots of good seed from to play with.

I also dusted one of these sshxog autos with some caribe pollen and have a handful of those to play with outdoors...

I was thinking of outdoors open pollinating my Caribe x auto f1's. With these Nicole kush x early Moroccan f1 freebies.... In the hopes of creating a new super gorilla strain.....I wonder how the early Moroccan automatic sativa flowering genetics and the ruderalis genetics will play out from an f1 to a f2 ......also the resiliency of both the Jamaican and Moroccan for very different and difficult climates with huge growth and low requirements... The Nicole kush I believe is just another really nice OG clone thrown in to improve the Moroccan stability and quality.... But anyway that's my summer outdoor plans...was gonna do these in a very minimally worked plot and use the best ones by natural selection ..

And back to the Caribe x Malawi , really pretty uniform , but I think this mix if done Again by the professionals will want to maximize the chances I think for this "Angry Jamaican" pheno....not sure of the parental plants available from the Caribe lines...but its fun to ponder.

So its getting interesting again, getting everything dialed in, I'm a grower that only grows for himself so I tend to try lots of different things a lot , I always have what I need so yield is never really even a concern even with my micro setup. But fear not, I got some time to dial in these sweet peas.

The bigger ones in there now are the female survivors from seed the 10/14 and 24/0. Some transplanted some not, but all abused and not to potential,, but happy and Now sitting comfortably at 12/12 where they will stay forever..
Don't worry I did things the right way

I typically have a very high female ratio when I grow probably 90+%or damn near 100% really, , but I was having weird problems with the Caribe x Malawi on A 24/0 and the 10/14 that the indica influenced plant did not have...so now on 12/12 and a more dialed in nutes, a few new seeds and everything is happy and popping now.

Also this is the "angry Jamaican" pheno...only 1 out of 24 seeds so far,,, not up to its potential, but you can clearly see the Jamaican structure with Malawi influence,,,, for the most part , the rest of them are very uniform hybrid looking things of almost their own thing, they look good.,,the newly popped seeds starting on the12/12 will tell a more full story, they also are getting a food they like better than the others started on...

Thought of sharing the mangobiche peyote purple again in natural light, I wetted a couple caribe x Malawi seeds to take its place in a few days...but this gal has been teased throughout the thread and needs a closing story as well...not keeping any clones or revedging, but the quality is worth it , if its on your radar...more indica influence than I'm looking for, but huge potential.

Its gonna be the story of this lonely angry Jamaican for a few weeks.... The other ones have come around a bit and looking good breed wise, the others are looking more like the "AJ". I'm looking for,,,I just put them all through serious abuses to start.... But I know how sold I got these beans now ...

Really liking how this purple Malawi x Caribe cross is coming out....good mix of both in the hybrid all around.... The smell of " AJ' is really neat is all I can say at this point....fruty incense herbal spices

Expecting to see a colorful surprise in a few of them..

Very pretty this one, I'm getting excited.I'm liking the cross better than the individual for sure on this one

Looks like resin production won't be a problem for the "AJ" pheno....showing better and earlier resin production than the Malawi and Caribes I've grown...smell is very complex

Really hitting stretch now, I'll show the others with the AJ soon, they are looking better, ...they were all so abused I didn't want you all to see and get the wrong Idea.

Really the more I think about and look into the Purple Malawi X Caribe , the more I realize how solid it is...

Would be fun to do regular seeds with the Top JBM male and the old killer mom, find some mean phenos for sure

OK so here's full update,,

I had some in yogurt cups as an experiment, needless to say don't ever put a Jamaican hybrid in a yogurt cup.

Now added a few 1.6 gallon buckets to try out, I got a bunch of these, probably end up going to all these by my hunch.

AJ. Smells now almost completely like pink grapefruit.... Its pretty fantastic

Fruity sweet and sour is dominate across most of them , found one with a "skunky" and one that smells straight like NL...that one is deff a NL pheno..darker green than all others and stout.

But similar smells to purple Malawi mostly but intensified aromas overall than the parents.

You can see I really deprived them of nutrients and root bound them , so its hard to really say how they should look....the AJ is just an invincible pheno

Here we go , my favorite so far of the next round..
12/12 from seed,1 gallon bucket. 6 like this one...not gonna number them but will pick favorites as they emerge ,,,haven't kept track of days, I just go until its done....this is probably about a week old....took a small clone off AJ if its anything like caribe it will be rooted in just a few days.....my auto experiment in my little vedge box kinda didn't work, so gonna mom it with AJ pheno and use that plus keep poping seeds to keep finding winner cuts.

Awe isn't it cute
