just wondering what everyone considers the best method for removing and preserving terpenes from material before it is used to make something like THCA or distillate?

was considering getting the material wet and then drying in vacuum oven with an inline cold trap or dewar condenser.. that or soaking material for a couple minutes in water and then putting that terpene laiden water into rotovap and then seperatory funnel the distilled water/terps.. just wondering what works best for everyone who chooses to do high quality terpene isolation/extraction?
