Prototype stram codistillation of extract
This early rig used a sep funnel to add the water directly to the boiling flask. My later incarnation employs a steam injector under the puddle to accomplish this and this also lends energy to the distillation. The problem with this setup here is high head temperatures. This rig runs nicely at 105-115C on the head thermometer. It is an early vid so I am making conjecture and such in it, but I brought it out of retirement from vimeo. My refined version with steam injector runs head temps about 5-10 degrees Celsius lower. I like lower temps. I have dozens of vids on vimeo but most are private. They mostly represent the learning curves involved with evolving a process. This rig was used several times and without another way to distill this was the very best way to get this done for me. I thought it would be useful to present an earlier rig to show another method.
